現代語訳
小落雁は殿より大切な茶碗を預かり立ち帰る折から、奥方の腰元松風がかねて落雁に心をかけていたので、よい機会だからと思いの丈を明かす。
落雁も松風の色香に魅せられ、割りない仲となる。
金平糖はある平より の回し物で、落雁が草履取りとなり、かねて干菓子山殿秘蔵の茶碗を奪おうと入り込み、落雁が預かっていたので難なく奪い取り立ち去る。

Little Rakugan receives the precious tea bowl from his lord and is returning home when Matsukaze, a lady-in-waiting of the inner palace, who has long harbored feelings for Rakugan, takes this good opportunity to reveal the depth of her emotions.
Rakugan is also captivated by Matsukaze's beauty and charm, and they become intimate lovers.
Konpeitō (sugar candy) is a messenger from a certain Hei, who infiltrates as Rakugan's sandal-bearer, intending to steal the treasured tea bowl of Dry Confections Mountain Lord. Since Rakugan was entrusted with it, he easily steals it and departs.
