手長島は酒好きゆえ、ある夜朝比奈の留守を幸い、酒樽のよく寝入ったるを見計らい、奥座敷より酒部屋まで探って、飲み口を舐める。こちらはふっと目が覚め、憎さも憎しと飲み口を押さえる。折しも小便が出そうゆえ、酒と見せかけて茶碗へ小便を仕込む。手長島は知らずに、さりとてかの小便を酒と思い、ぐっと引っかけた心地よさ。
