【囲みの外】花の色は白く、花の蕊が立ち上がり、形は風車のようで、内に茶筅のようなギザギザがある。二重に立ち上がり、その先端は紺色である。その中に高砂百合のようなものが五つ長く立ち、花の底は黄色、内側は白く黄色の縁取りがある。また、その中に本紫色でわらび手の丁子頭のような蜘蛛手の芯が立ち、その芯の根元に紫色の髪の毛のように小さく細いもので蕊を取り囲んでいる。蜘蛛手の芯の中はまた茶色の米袋のような花の実のようなものが長く立っている。花は四時頃から開き、八時まで咲いて日に向かう。花蕊のギザギザが回ることは時計のようで、四月から咲き始めて七八月まで咲く。

【Outside box】The flower color is white, with stamens standing upright in the shape of a windmill, with serrations like a tea whisk inside. They stand in two layers, with indigo-colored tips. Inside are five long structures resembling Takasago lilies, with yellow flower bases and white interiors with yellow edges. Furthermore, inside is a purple spider-like core resembling a bracken-shaped clove head, with the base of the core surrounded by small, thin purple structures like hair strands forming the stamens. Inside the spider-like core are brown rice-sac-like structures resembling fruit that stand tall. The flowers open around 4 o'clock and remain open until 8 o'clock, facing the sun. The serrated stamens rotate like a clock, blooming from April through July-August.

What's called uguisu-sō (bush warbler grass) is distinguished from this variety. Flowers bloom in September. Height exceeds two shaku.

Variegated cherry grass is not like today's tie-dyed patterns but has purple and white colors separated within single petals. Pale purple has slightly larger flowers called Komachi cherry grass. Speckled varieties are called tie-dyed cherry grass, brocade cherry grass, or variegated cherry grass. Height is 6-7 sun.
