　右の如く糸の捻終れば小篗へからむなり尤糸を
　段々つなぎ巻べし巻方手にてすごき巻は糸に
　村出て悪し口伝あり
　　　糸練方
一糸目方一貫目に付明き俵五俵を切りほぐし一度
　にどつと一焼にして火の不消内に水を少し打
　懸火を消なり焼方不足なれは練糸きばむ也又
　焼過れは灰不利能くもへ切様に焼べし又過て
　白く不成様にすべし四斗樽へ吞口を付内より
　杉の葉をさし込み右の灰を入水を樽の縁一寸
　もすく位に入て二三日過て吞口を抜き灰水を
　取る
一灰水を釜へ入糸を入布袋へ大豆一握程入糸と

　一同に大豆袋を煉る也朝六ッ時より練り初め四時
　迄練れは能き程に練れる此時袋の豆を出し指
　にてつまみ見るにせんばり【注】と豆の潰る加減を最
　上の加減とす練上け引上て浄水にて濯き出す
　也井水は悪し流水にて能々すゝぐべし濯き出して
　棒を上下へ通し絞り天日にて干上る其後染るなり
　上下の棒を二人にて捻れは能く絞れるなり尤つりを
　懸て乾すべきなり次に篗へ繰返し外し置
　なり
一練る時火の焼方いつも煮上り居る様に火を不怠
　たくべし尤釜へ蓋をして煉る也
　　　糸捻つまりの寸尺
一てせら糸下よりの時一丈二尺つまる合捻の時に三

【右丁】
　右のように糸の撚りが終われば小篗へ巻くのである。もっとも糸を
　段々つなぎ巻くべきである。巻き方で手で湿らせて巻くのは糸に
　むらが出て悪い。口伝がある。
　　　糸練り方
一、糸目方一貫目につき、空き俵五俵を切りほぐし、一度
　にどっと一焼きにして、火の消えない内に水を少し打ち
　かけ火を消すのである。焼き方が不足ならば練り糸が黄ばむ。また
　焼き過ぎれば灰の利きが悪い。よく燃え切るように焼くべきである。また過ぎて
　白くならないようにすべきである。四斗樽へ呑み口を付け、内より
　杉の葉を差し込み、右の灰を入れ、水を樽の縁一寸
　も少ない位に入れて二三日過ぎて呑み口を抜き、灰水を
　取る。
一、灰水を釜へ入れ、糸を入れ、布袋へ大豆一握り程入れ、糸と

　まで練れば良い程に練れる。この時袋の豆を出し、指
　でつまみ見るに、せんばり（？）と豆の潰れる加減を最
　上の加減とする。練り上げて引き上げて浄水にて濯ぎ出す
　のである。井水は悪い。流水にてよくよくすすぐべきである。濯ぎ出して
　棒を上下へ通し絞り、天日にて干し上げる。その後染めるのである。
　上下の棒を二人で捻れば良く絞れるのである。もっとも吊りを
　かけて乾すべきである。次に篗へ繰り返し外し置く
　のである。
一、練る時、火の焚き方はいつも煮上がっているように火を怠ら
　ず焚くべきである。もっとも釜へ蓋をして練るのである。

　　　Thread Refining Method
1. For thread weighing one kanme, cut and loosen five empty straw bags, burn them all at once in a single burning, and before the fire goes out, sprinkle a little water to extinguish the fire. If the burning is insufficient, the refined thread will turn yellow. If over-burned, the ash will not work well. It should be burned so it burns completely. Also, it should not be burned so much that it becomes white. Attach a spout to a four-to barrel, insert cedar leaves from inside, put in the aforementioned ash, add water to about one inch below the rim of the barrel, and after two or three days, remove the spout and collect the lye water.
1. Put the lye water into a kettle, add the thread, put about a handful of soybeans in a cloth bag, and boil the soybean bag together with the thread.

　Start boiling from the sixth hour of morning (around 6 AM), and if boiled until the fourth hour (around 10 AM), it will be refined to a good degree. At this time, take out the beans from the bag and pinch them with fingers - the degree at which the beans crush with a "soft" feeling is considered the optimal degree. After refining, lift it out and rinse with clean water. Well water is bad. Rinse thoroughly with running water. After rinsing, thread poles through the top and bottom, wring it out, and dry it in the sun. After that, it is dyed. If two people twist the upper and lower poles, it wrings out well.
