一麻引板と云あり上り下りなり三寸長一尺位のものにて
　笹板也下台あり
一麻引かみそり有り上方にて出来るなり並の髪剃（かみそり）に
　てよし平にすべし引方は長故に中より引両方へ
　引左の方へ長く置夫より平らか成るまゝにて向の
　方重ね一輪に本を結ひなけしへ竹を懸け懸竿（かけさほ）
　にて干し上ヶあんこふにかけ結ふ尤同麻にて結た
　つる三百目一わにして十把合三貫目三貫目詰【注①】四
　わにて十二貫目ひとこうりと定め赤みかゝりたるが上の定也

　右の如くして雨の不懸様にする為なり藁（わら）にてとま

一麻うみ方はからはきの麻を水にてしめし手にて
　絞り上け長二尺の竹の先へ結附／板椽（いたゑん）【注②】の上にて
　たゝく但し打には向へ麻の延さる様に打へし
　畳み重る様に打事なり右を乾し十四五本も
　口にくはへうむなり麻の継目をは手前の方へ
　捻り継なり向の方へ捻（ひね）れはつむく時ほぐれて
　悪しうみ継次第に苧桶（をゝけ）に畳み入る
一／紡（つむき）上け篗（わく）にてつむくなり其後かせにする是より
　機（はた）に延（のへ）るなり

現代語訳

【右丁】
一、麻引板というものがある。上がり下がりになっている。三寸長、一尺位のもので
　笹板である。下台がある。
一、麻引き剃刀がある。上方（関西地方）で作られる。普通の髪剃りで
　よい。平らにすべきである。引き方は長いので中央から引いて両方へ
　引く。左の方へ長く置き、それから平らかになるままにして向こうの
　方へ重ね、一輪に根元を結び、投げ縄へ竹を掛け、掛け竿
　で干し上げ、あんこうに掛けて結ぶ。もちろん同じ麻で結ぶ。
　一束三百匁として十把合わせて三貫匁、三貫匁詰めで四
　束にて十二貫匁を一荷と定め、赤みがかったものが上等の決まりである。

　右のようにして雨が掛からないようにするためである。藁で苫
　を掛け雨を除く。翌日また解して干し上げる。もちろん五六
　日干し上げて手軽になったら右の通りにすることである。
一、麻績み方は皮剥ぎした麻を水で湿らせ、手で
　絞り上げ、長さ二尺の竹の先へ結び付け、板縁の上で
　叩く。ただし打つには向こうへ麻が延びるように打つべし。
　畳み重なるように打つことである。右を乾かし十四五本も
　口に咥えて績むのである。麻の継ぎ目は手前の方へ
　捻って継ぐ。向こうの方へ捻ると紡ぐ時に解けて
　悪い。績み継いで順次に苧桶に畳み入れる。
一、紡ぎ上げ、枠で巻くのである。その後かせにする。これより
　機に延べるのである。

One: There is something called a hemp-drawing board. It has ups and downs. It is about three sun long and one shaku wide,
　made of bamboo slat. It has a base platform.
One: There is a hemp-drawing razor. It is made in the Kamigata region (Kansai area). An ordinary hair razor will
　suffice. It should be flat. Since the drawing method is long, pull from the center to both sides.
　Place it long to the left, then let it become flat naturally and stack it toward the opposite side,
　tie the roots in one bundle, hang bamboo on a rope, dry it thoroughly with a hanging pole,
　hang it on an ankou and tie it. Of course, tie it with the same hemp.
　One bundle weighs 300 monme, ten bundles combined make 3 kan-me, and with 3 kan-me bundled, four
　bundles making 12 kan-me constitute one load. Reddish-tinged hemp is determined to be top quality.

　Split bamboo, attach thread to the back and front,
　gradually wrap upward in double and triple layers,
　hook feet at the top and tighten.
　The tip becomes thin.

　This is done to prevent rain from hitting it. Cover with straw thatch
　to keep out rain. The next day, loosen again and dry thoroughly. Of course, after drying for five or six
　days until it becomes manageable, do as described above.
One: The hemp spinning method involves moistening the bark-peeled hemp with water, wringing it out
　by hand, tying it to the tip of a bamboo stick two shaku long, and beating it
　on a board veranda. However, when beating, beat so that the hemp extends toward the opposite direction.
　Beat so that it folds and stacks. Dry this, and spin by holding fourteen or fifteen strands
　in the mouth. Join the hemp seams by twisting toward the front.
　If twisted toward the opposite direction, it will unravel when spinning, which is
　bad. Spin and join continuously, folding into the ramie tub.
One: After spinning, wind it on a frame. Then make it into skeins. From this point
　it is extended on the loom.
