樹林寺縁起略記
当寺ハ後陽成天皇ノ御宇慶長六辛丑年当
時ノ高遠城主保科弾正忠正直ノ開基ニシテ高
野山金剛頂院ノ前住祐誉法印ヲ以テ開祖ト
ス由来古義派真言宗高野山金剛頂院ノ末
寺ニシテ稲荷山真言院樹林寺ト称ス中興新
義派真言宗トナル伝フル所ニヨレハ前ニ保科家
下総国多胡ヲ領ス同地ニ稲荷山樹林寺ト称
スル寺アリ同家ノ帰依尊信スル所トナリ乃チ封
ヲ高遠ニ移スニ当リテ之ヲ当地ニ遷徙セリト云フ
今当寺ノ境内ニアル観音堂ハ実ニ当時ノ本
堂ニシテ夕顔観音ヲ本尊トセシカ後宝永年間

樹林寺縁起略記
当寺は後陽成天皇の御代、慶長六年（1601年）辛丑の年、当時の高遠城主保科弾正忠正直の開基によるもので、高野山金剛峯寺の前住職祐誉法印を開祖とする。由来は古義派真言宗高野山金剛峯寺の末寺であり、稲荷山真言院樹林寺と称していた。後に中興して新義派真言宗となる。伝えられるところによれば、以前に保科家が下総国多胡を領していた時、同地に稲荷山樹林寺と称する寺があり、同家の帰依信仰するところとなった。そして領地を高遠に移すにあたって、この寺を当地に移転したという。現在当寺の境内にある観音堂は、実に当時の本堂であり、夕顔観音を本尊としていたが、後の宝永年間（1704-1711年）に

Brief Record of the Origins of Jurinji Temple
This temple was founded during the reign of Emperor Go-Yōzei, in the sixth year of Keichō (1601), the year of the Metal Ox, by the then lord of Takato Castle, Hoshina Danjō-chū Masanao. The founding priest was the former abbot Yūyo Hōin of Kongōchō-in at Mount Kōya. Originally, it was a branch temple of the Old Shingon sect's Kongōchō-in at Mount Kōya and was called Inariyama Shingon-in Jurinji Temple. Later, it was revived as a New Shingon sect temple. According to tradition, when the Hoshina family previously held dominion over Tago in Shimōsa Province, there was a temple there called Inariyama Jurinji Temple, which became the object of the family's devotion and faith. When they moved their domain to Takato, they relocated this temple to the present location. The Kannon Hall that currently exists within the temple grounds was actually the main hall of that time, with Yūgao Kannon as the principal deity, but later during the Hōei era (1704-1711)
