当寺四世住職聖山別ニ本堂ヲ建設シテ大日如来ヲ
安置ス当寺ハ其位置高遠城オ艮位ニ当リ開基
以来保科家ノ祈願所タリシカ寛永十二乙亥年
鳥居主膳正忠春高遠城主トナルニ及ヒ又同家ノ
祈願所トナル元禄四辛未年内藤駿河守清枚
城主トナリテヨリ以来明治二年廃城ニ至ル迄
殆ト百八十年間内藤家ノ祈願所タリ其間毎
年金穀若干ヲ当寺ニ附与セラル慶応二丙寅
年当時ノ城主内藤若狭守頼直堂宇ヲ再建
ス是レ方今当寺ノ本堂ナリ而シテ当寺住職
ハ開基祐誉ヨリ現代迄実ニ十四世開基ヨリ
本年迄ヲ経ルコト二百九十五年ナリ

当寺四世住職聖山が別に本堂を建設して大日如来を安置した。当寺はその位置が高遠城の艮（北東）の方角に当たり、開基以来保科家の祈願所であったが、寛永十二年（1635年）乙亥の年、鳥居主膳正忠春が高遠城主となるに及んで、また同家の祈願所となった。元禄四年（1691年）辛未の年、内藤駿河守清枚が城主となってより以来、明治二年（1869年）の廃城に至るまで、ほとんど百八十年間、内藤家の祈願所であった。その間毎年、金穀若干を当寺に支給された。慶応二年（1866年）丙寅の年、当時の城主内藤若狭守頼直が堂宇を再建した。これが現在当寺の本堂である。そして当寺住職は、開基祐誉より現代まで実に十四世を数え、開基より本年まで経ること二百九十五年である。

当寺は元来十余個の末寺を有していたが、その廃滅に帰したものが多く、今現に八個の末寺を有する本寺である。

The fourth abbot of this temple, Seizan, separately constructed a main hall and enshrined Dainichi Nyorai. This temple is positioned in the northeastern direction (kimon) relative to Takato Castle, and since its founding had been the prayer temple of the Hoshina family. However, in the twelfth year of Kan'ei (1635), the year of the Wood Boar, when Torii Shuzen-shō Tadaharu became lord of Takato Castle, it also became the prayer temple of his family. From the fourth year of Genroku (1691), the year of the Metal Sheep, when Naitō Suruga-no-kami Kiyohira became castle lord, until the abolition of the castle in the second year of Meiji (1869), for nearly one hundred and eighty years it served as the prayer temple of the Naitō family. During this period, a certain amount of money and grain was granted to this temple annually. In the second year of Keiō (1866), the year of the Fire Tiger, the then castle lord Naitō Wakasa-no-kami Yorinao rebuilt the temple buildings. This is the current main hall of our temple. The abbots of this temple, from the founding abbot Yūyo to the present day, number fourteen generations, spanning two hundred and ninety-five years from the founding to this year.

This temple originally had more than ten branch temples, but many have fallen into ruin, and it is now a head temple with eight existing branch temples.
