次（ツキ）￣ハ者 麁蝦夷（アラヱヒス）近（チカキ）￣ハ者 名（ナツク）＿二熟蝦（ニイヱヒ）
現代語訳
天子が問うて言うには「これらの蝦夷の国はどの方角にあるのか」使人が謹んで答えて「国は東北の方角にございます」天子が問うて言うには「蝦夷は幾つの種類があるのか」使人が謹んで答えて「種類は三種類ございます。遠い者は都加留（ツカル）と名付けられ、次の者は麁蝦夷（アラエヒス）、近い者は熟蝦（ニキエヒ）と名付けられております」
英語訳
The Son of Heaven inquired and said, "In which direction are these Ezo countries located?" The envoys respectfully answered, "The countries are located in the northeast direction." The Son of Heaven inquired and said, "How many types of Ezo are there?" The envoys respectfully answered, "There are three types. The distant ones are named Tsukaru, the next ones are Ara-ebisu, and the close ones are named Nikiebisu."
