嘉吉三年に若狭守源信広が海を越えて蝦夷の中に入り、ついに南界を取って北地を定めた。それ以来、子孫が代々その地を拠点として守っている。《割書：この件は明らかでない事は雑説の部に記す》蠣崎慶広という者が初めて豊臣に出仕した。

In the third year of Kakitsu (1443), Wakasa-no-kami Minamoto no Nobuhiro crossed the sea and entered into Ezo territory, finally taking the southern border and establishing the northern lands.
