現代語訳
自分も今は業平と仇名されて、俺もよっぽどの色男だと思う。内心では「今は三十になり、もう少しいい色事を始めようと思うけれど、始めたと聞いたならば、世間で女どもが朝湯の繰り戸が開いたようにとろとろと押しかけてくるであろう。どうか中程度に女が惚れるようにしたい」と思い、浅草の因果地蔵へ願をかける。
【中段の祈り】
「私はいかなる因果やら、ちょっと見ても女が惚れますので困り果てました。どうか一日に五人か十人くらいは良い」
【下段の祈り】
「ようにこさえられます。その他はどうか惚れないようにお守り下さいませ。南無地蔵菩薩」
【下段右の台詞】
「あれは評判の業平さ。粋な男だね」
英語訳
He himself was now nicknamed "Narihira" and thought, "I must be quite the ladies' man." Inwardly he thought, "Now I'm thirty years old, and I'd like to begin some better romantic affairs. But if word got out that I'd started, women from all over town would come trickling in like water through the sliding doors of the morning bath house. I'd like it to be just moderate—enough that women fall for me." With this thought, he went to make a vow at the Inga Jizō temple in Asakusa.

"Due to some karma I don't understand, women fall for me at first sight, which has become quite troublesome. Please arrange it so that only about five or ten per day would be good."
