▲六寸角・長さ一丈三尺の角材を、差し渡し六寸の丸木にしたとき、長さはいくらになるかという問題の場合、
径六寸・長さ一丈六尺四寸五分五厘という。
右の六寸角の長さ一丈三尺を、円法七九で割るとよい。
▲径七寸・長さ二間の丸木を、長さはそのまま二間のままで角材にすると何寸角になるかという問題の場合、
口（断面）六寸二分二厘・長さ二間という。
左に一一二五（1.125）と置いて、これで右の七寸を割る。
▲六寸角の角材を丸木にしたとき、差し渡し（直径）は何寸になるかという問題の場合、

【中巻四十八丁表】
右に一一二五（※本文では「二二五」と誤記）と置き、これに六寸をかけると六寸七分五厘となる。

【前側面】右の六寸角・二間木の代金四匁二分の割合を用いて、
幅二尺のこの平物の代金はいくらになるかという問題の場合、
平物、代金二十九匁七分五厘という。
まず八寸五分に二尺をかけると一七（＝一・七）となる。これに三間をかけると五一（＝五・一）となる。これに四匁二分をかけると二一四二（＝二一・四二）となる。これを右に別に置いておく。また左に六寸を縦横に置いてかけると三六となる。これに二間をかけると七二となる。この七二で二一四二を割ると、二十九匁七分五厘と知ることができる。

▲When a 6-sun square timber with a length of 1 jō 3 shaku is converted into a round log with a diameter of 6-sun, the question is what length it becomes. The answer is: diameter 6-sun, length 1 jō 6 shaku 4 sun 5 bu 5 rin.
Divide the length of the 6-sun square timber, 1 jō 3 shaku, by the circular factor 79 (≈ 0.79).
▲When a round log with a diameter of 7-sun and a length of 2 ken is converted into square timber while keeping the same length of 2 ken, the question is what size square the timber becomes. The answer is: cross-section 6-sun 2-bu 2-rin, length 2 ken.
Place 1.125 on the left, and divide the 7-sun on the right by it.

Place 1.125 on the right (※note: the text erroneously writes "225"), and multiply it by 6-sun to get 6-sun 7-bu 5-rin.
▲Using a 6-sun square, 2-ken piece of lumber priced at 4 monme 2 bu as the basis for calculation, a flat piece of lumber (hira-mono) with the following dimensions:

[Top-left] Thickness: 8-sun 5-bu
The question is what the price of this flat piece of lumber 2 shaku wide should be at the same rate as the 6-sun square, 2-ken lumber priced at 4 monme 2 bu.
The flat lumber costs 29 monme 7 bu 5 rin.
First, multiply 8-sun 5-bu by 2 shaku to get 1.7. Multiply this by 3 ken to get 5.1. Multiply this by 4 monme 2 bu to get 21.42. Set this aside on the right. Then on the left, place 6-sun on both sides and multiply to get 36. Multiply this by 2 ken to get 72. Divide 21.42 by this 72 to find the answer of 29 monme 7 bu 5 rin.
