右のねずみが日本を取り巻く時は、何重に取り巻くかと問う。
答え：二百二十四返（あまり百二十三里十二町と有り）
ただし、ねずみ一間に二十六匹ずつ居るものとする。日本の周囲はおよそ二千二百里あるものとして計算する。
【下巻十一丁表】
▲ねずみ父母二匹のねずみが月に一度ずつ子を産み、一年中に増えた数、二百七十六億八千二百五十七万四千四百二匹を、平らに四方に並べるとどれほどの広さになるかと問う。
答え：四里六町五十間四方
ただし、一坪に三百三十八匹ずつ居るものとして計算する。

If these rats were arranged flat in a square formation, how large an area would they cover? — So the question is posed.
Answer: A square of 4 *ri*, 6 *chō*, and 50 *ken* on each side.
