【下巻二十二丁表】
▲あるぬすびとが橋の下で布を分け取ったことを、橋の上で通りかかった人が（ぬすびとたちに）問いただしたところ、一人あたり十二反ずつ分けると十二反余る、また一人あたり十四反ずつ分けると六反足りない、とのことである。このぬすびとの人数と布の数量はいくらか、という問いである。
答え：ぬすびと九人、布百二十反。

**Volume 3, Leaf 22, Recto**
▲ Some thieves divided stolen cloth under a bridge. A passerby on top of the bridge questioned them about it. The thieves said: if each person receives 12 *tan* of cloth, there will be 12 *tan* left over; but if each person receives 14 *tan*, there will be 6 *tan* short. The question is: how many thieves are there, and how much cloth is there in total?
Answer: 9 thieves, 120 *tan* of cloth.
