平山金兵衛の甥である直治は、享保十六年（亥年）六月、町田彦太夫方へ養子に行くことを願い出て許可された。このことが官記に見えるところであるが、家元からの伝承もないけれども、参考のために記し置く。

Naoji
Naoji, nephew of Hirayama Kinbei, in the 16th year of Kyōhō (year of the boar), 6th month, petitioned to become an adopted son of the Machida Hikodayū family and was granted permission. This is recorded in the official records, but although there is no tradition from the main family line, it is recorded here for reference.
