- In the 4th month, 14th year of Bunka (1817), one portion was reduced from his late father's stipend allowance, and he was granted a six-person stipend. He was summoned and assigned to the Second Kobushin-gumi (construction corps) for training in the arts
- In the 12th month of the same year, because he possessed advanced techniques in martial arts, he was exempted from kobushin fees and was appointed to the Shinban-gumi (new guard unit)
- In the 8th month, 2nd year of Bunsei (1819), he participated in the bird hunting event
