御意之趣
先月廿八日ニ御領知之御礼御首尾克被仰上候
爰元御屋敷無別条其許静之旨追々被
聞召御満足被遊候今度被仰出趣ニ候得者
御家久敷侍共之儀候間何卒被召仕度被
思召候得共御高大分減候得者難及御手当
其段御難儀千万思召候何も侍共迷惑
可仕与御不便被思召候御相談之上ニ而追々
可被仰出候先夫迄ハ其身共之為ニも候条何茂
噪敷無之様ニ仕可罷在候
一同月十八日御精進揚ニ付御使者を以御肴鯛一折被献之
一同月廿一日右同断ニ付御使者を以御肴鯛一折を献之
一同月廿二日今度御再動被仰出候ニ付本多孫太郎長員ゟ
公辺江献上物之儀御伺被成候処如先規差上候様御老中
松平日向守信之殿指図有之

一 四月十五日 本多孫太郎《割書：長員》の宅において、孫太郎が初めて御家老列に座し、
御使者萩野源右衛門《割書：政封》が侍座して御意の趣旨を左の通り高知をはじめ諸士に
申し渡しました
御意の趣旨
先月二十八日に御領知の御礼を首尾よく申し上げられました
こちらの御屋敷も別状なく、そちらが静穏である旨を次々と
聞き及び御満足されています。今度申し出される趣旨は
御家は古く侍たちの件ですが、何とか召し仕えたいと
思われますが、御高が大分減ったため御手当てが及び難く
その点を御難儀千万に思われています。皆侍たちも迷惑を
かけることになり御不憫に思われています。御相談の上で追々
申し出されることでしょう。まずそれまでは身のためでもありますので、何事も
騒がしくないよう務めているべきです
一 同月十八日 御精進揚げにつき御使者を以て御肴鯛一折を献上しました

一 同月二十二日 今度御再動を仰せ出されたことにつき、本多孫太郎長員から
公辺への献上物の件を御伺いされたところ、先例の通り差し上げるよう御老中
松平日向守信之殿から指図がありました

and messenger Hagino Gen'emon 《marginal note: Masataka》 sat in attendance to convey the lord's intentions as follows to Takachi and other retainers:
The lord's intentions:
On the 28th day of last month, you successfully presented your gratitude for the fief grant.
The mansion here is without incident, and we have been hearing continuously that
your area is peaceful, which brings great satisfaction. What is being announced this time
concerns the retainers of this long-established house. We would very much like to
employ them, but since the fief income has been considerably reduced, it is difficult to provide adequate support.
We consider this situation extremely troublesome. We think it pitiful that all the retainers
will suffer hardship. After consultation, announcements will be made gradually.
Until then, for their own sake as well, everyone should
conduct themselves without causing any disturbances.
