越前国福井城三丸石垣弐箇所崩候ニ付而
築直度旨絵図朱引之趣承届候如元可有

一 四月四日 御呼出により【昨三日御老中より御切紙にて申し来る】御留守居加賀藤左衛門【成興】が御城へ参上したところ、柳之間において歳暮御祝儀御献上についての御内書を御用番戸田山城守【忠昌】殿より御渡しがあった。その節藤左衛門へ御袷を拝領するよう仰せ付けられ、藤左衛門が帰参し御内書を指し上げ、御座之間において御頂戴された【御上下御着用】。藤左衛門へ御長蚫を御直々に下され、それより右の御礼として山城守殿へ御勤めした。
ただし端午・重陽・歳暮とも右の御礼勤めの件は以後記録しない
一 同月六日 御老中大久保加賀守【忠朝】殿・戸田山城守【忠昌】殿へ御逢対御勤めした
一 同月十三日 御使者を以て御国産初鯖を献上した
一 同月十七日 御用番戸田山城守殿【忠昌】殿より御呼出があり、御家狛杢允【貞澄、御留守居荒川善右衛門同道】が参上したところ、御城廻石垣破損所並びに先年御伺い済みの御堀渡残りの分の御普請をしたい旨御願いしたことについての御奉書を山城守殿より御渡しがあった。
越前国福井城三丸石垣二箇所が崩れたため築き直したい旨、絵図朱引きの趣意を承り届け、元の通りにすべし

1. April 4th: Due to a summons [a written notice came from the Senior Councilor yesterday on the 3rd], Kaga Tōzaemon [Narioki], the caretaker, went to the castle. At Yanagi-no-ma (Willow Room), he received an official letter from Toda Yamashiro-no-kami [Tadamasa], the duty councilor, regarding the year-end congratulatory tribute. On this occasion, Tōzaemon was granted the honor of receiving a lined silk garment. Upon his return, he presented the official letter and received it with honor in the formal audience chamber [wearing formal court dress]. He was personally given dried abalone by his lord, and thereafter performed courtesy visits to Yamashiro-no-kami as thanks for this honor.
Note: Hereafter, such courtesy duties for Boys' Day, Chrysanthemum Festival, and year-end will not be recorded

Same month, 17th day: There was a summons from duty councilor Toda Yamashiro-no-kami [Tadamasa], and retainer Koma Moku-no-jō [Sadazumi, accompanied by caretaker Arakawa Zen'emon] went to the castle. Regarding the petition to conduct construction work on damaged stone walls around the castle and remaining moat construction that had been previously approved, an official letter was handed over by Yamashiro-no-kami.
Regarding the collapse of two sections of stone walls at the third bailey of Fukui Castle in Echizen Province, the request to rebuild them has been acknowledged according to the marked drawings, and it shall be restored as before.
