一公領は申に及はす他領他村并友百姓に
対して道理なき公事訴訟境目論等
一切停止すへし但無拠子細有之公事
訴訟仕時は庄屋長百姓其五人組立合
念を入吟味を遂たしか成証文証銘有之
理分無紛儀に候はゝ言葉をかさらす
訴状をしょう正直に認可申来若虚言をかまえ
非分をかさり申出るにおゐては当人は
いふに不及庄屋長百姓迄可為越度事
附追目安を出し又は裁許を待兼
直訴紙仕又は内縁を以取扱ひ頼
申儀かたく停止すへき事
一惣百姓印判常々大切に取持可仕庄屋
長百姓は判鑑を帳面に致し組頭へ
相渡此方へ持参可仕若印判紛失仕候歟
又は仕替候時は組頭同道にて印判持参仕
帳面に可付事
一何事によらす他領他村え手形証文仕
現代語訳
一、公領は言うに及ばず、他領・他村並びに友百姓に
対して道理のない訴訟・境界争い等は
一切停止すべし。ただし、やむを得ない事情があって訴訟を
する時は、庄屋・長百姓・その五人組が立ち合い、
念を入れて吟味を遂げ、確かな証文・証拠があり、
理分に紛れがない場合は、言葉を飾らず
訴状を正直に認めて申し来るべし。もし虚言を構え
非分を重ねて申し出ることについては、当人は
言うに及ばず、庄屋・長百姓まで越度となること。
附 追目安を出し、または裁許を待ちかねて
直訴状を作し、または内縁を以て取り扱いを頼み
申すことは堅く停止すべきこと。
一、総百姓の印判は常々大切に取り扱うべし。庄屋・
長百姓は判鑑を帳面にして組頭へ
渡し、こちらへ持参すべし。もし印判を紛失した場合、
または作り替えた時は、組頭同道にて印判を持参し
帳面に付けること。

1. Not only in public domains, but also regarding other domains, other villages, and fellow farmers,
all unreasonable lawsuits and boundary disputes shall be
completely prohibited. However, when there are unavoidable circumstances requiring litigation,
the village headman, senior farmers, and their five-person groups shall be present,
conduct careful investigations, and if there are reliable documents and evidence
with clear legal grounds and no ambiguity,
they may submit petitions honestly without embellishment. If false statements are made
and excessive unreasonable claims are submitted, not only the person concerned
but also the village headman and senior farmers shall be held responsible.
Note: Submitting additional petitions, or becoming impatient waiting for judgment
and making direct appeals, or requesting intervention through personal connections
are strictly prohibited.
1. All farmers' seals shall be handled with great care at all times. Village headmen and
senior farmers shall create seal registers in ledger form and deliver them to group leaders,
who shall bring them here. If a seal is lost
or remade, it shall be brought together with the group leader and
recorded in the ledger.
