右の庄右衛門の件について、私どもが右大将様の御附として勤務した時から与頭を務めており、身持ちその他家事の取り締まりも良好で、これは申すまでもないことですが、常々心がけが格別な人物であり、御奉公に関する事柄を並々ならぬ思いで心に掛け、万事格別に精勤しております。特に御附組の件は新規の制度であるため、内情において困難な事柄も種々ありましたが、それぞれの取り扱い方が格段に行き届き、組内も一同喜んでおります。
しかしながら、御附組与頭の職務は二人での勤務体制でありますので、御番が頻繁で、その上御成御供等もあり、万一同役が病気や都合が悪い時には、御供ならびに泊まり御番共に両組分を一人で兼任して勤務することになるため、次第に老衰に及び、かつ近来病身になったことから、長期の勤務について心配される状況であります。もっとも現在は

His personal conduct and household management are excellent - this goes without saying - and he is a person of particularly exceptional dedication who constantly keeps matters of loyal service in his heart with extraordinary commitment, conducting all affairs with exceptional diligence. Particularly regarding the attendant guard unit, since this was a new system, there were various internal difficulties, but his handling of each matter was remarkably thorough, and the entire unit is pleased.
However, since the attendant guard group leadership position requires two people working together, guard duties are frequent, and in addition there are ceremonial accompaniments and such.
