預け置いた由にて、差し支えが生じましたため、私どもは清八方へお願いをいたしましたが、いまだ年限中であるとのみ申して、一向に取り合わず、甚だ当惑いたしております。年限中とは申しながら、元来（こちらが）申し来たったこと、またたびたびの事情があり、殊に一家相続の義もございますので、何卒、清八・治兵衛をお召し出しの上、修覆・取り繕い等を行い、早速、家屋敷を明け渡すよう仰せ付けくださいますよう、お願い申し上げます。

We humbly submit this petition in written form:
One: A property belonging to our relative Kawachiya Magoshichi of Shimizumachi consists of two lots: one on the south side of the same town with a frontage of five ken and a depth of fifteen ken and one shaku, and another on the north side of the same town with a frontage of two and a half ken and a depth of eleven ken. These two lots were deposited with Sakaiya Kamezaemon as leased land for a term of ten years beginning in the third year of Kansei (1791), for a sum of twenty ryō received. Subsequently, in the year of Inu (i.e., the recent year of the Dog), an adopted son named Bunsuke was taken in, and we wished to reclaim said property and have it inherited by him. Our guarantors (hankata) negotiated with Kamezaemon's son Jihei, and an agreement was reached whereby an advance payment of six ryō was made, with the remainder to be paid in the current spring so that the property could be formally received back. However, it emerged that one of the two lots—the one on the south side—had been re-deposited by Jihei to Hinoya Seihachi for another ten-year lease term beginning in the fifteenth year of Tenpō (1844), and this created an obstacle.

We appealed to Seihachi for resolution, but he simply replied that the lease term had not yet expired and refused to engage with us at all, leaving us in great distress. Although the lease term has not expired, the matter was originally brought to our attention repeatedly, and furthermore there is the matter of family succession at stake. We therefore humbly request that Seihachi and Jihei be summoned, that repairs and restorations be carried out, and that they be ordered to vacate and return the property without delay.
One: Regarding another piece of land also belonging to the said Kawachiya Magoshichi—a lot situated on the north face of the lord's residence (o-ie) in Shimozatomachi, with a frontage of six ken and a depth of ten ken and four shaku—Hinoya Seihachi has occupied and used this land freely for a long time without paying any ground rent, and has also neglected necessary repairs to the stone walls. Since this land is now needed, we pressed him for its return, but regarding this lot, he merely insists, based on claims made by Sakaiya Kamezaemon, that it is part of a leased parcel, asserting only his own self-interested position…
