当正月十九日に井伊兵部少輔様から渡された御書付について
これまで御成（御出かけ）の際に御供揃え（供奉者の集合）を命じられる時によっては、出発が早い場合もありました。しかし、御供方の面々の中には、当然のことながら諸方面との打ち合わせがある者もおり、その他の者でも重要だと考えて、特に早めの命令がない時でも一時（二時間）早く、または一時半も早く出仕していたとのことです。もっともなことではありますが、御成の時刻によっては夜中から格別早く出仕することになり、一同困難を来すこともあるだろうとの御沙汰で、今後は御供揃えの刻限より早めにはなさらない旨が仰せ出されました。つきましては、御供揃えの刻限までに集合するよう、その旨を御供方の面々に通達すべきです。

Regarding the written directive issued by Lord Ii Hyōbu-shōyū on the 19th day of this first month:
Until now, when ordered to assemble for the lord's outings (go-nari), there have been occasions when departures were early. However, among the retainers in attendance, there are naturally those who have consultations with various parties, and others who, considering it important, would arrive one hour (two hours) early or even one and a half hours early, even when no special early orders were given. While this is commendable, depending on the timing of the lord's departure, having to arrive exceptionally early from the middle of the night would cause difficulties for everyone. Therefore, it has been decreed that henceforth, the assembly time shall not be set earlier than the designated hour for gathering the retinue. Accordingly, all members of the retinue should be notified that they are to assemble by the designated assembly time.
