現代語訳
元文三年午七月十七日、酒井備後守殿と間部若狭守殿が詰日にて出仕していたところ、若狭守殿が服喪中のため退出するよう大目付が申し聞かせたとのこと。その後、右の件について松平伊豆守殿が大目付に話をされたとのことで、三宅周防守殿と稲生下野殿が厳重に申し聞かせたのは、今後服喪中の面々は毎月十七日には詰日を振り替えて出仕するのが然るべき旨を申し聞かせたとのこと。翌十八日に酒井備後守殿から回状にて申し来た。
月次御礼のない二十八日で、公方様の御鷹野の御成の節には、高家衆と奏者番衆のみが登城する。よって雁之間もこれに準じるのが然るべきとのことだが、なお二十八日に出仕の上、三宅防州にも相談したところ、差し控えることは難しいとのことで、奏者番衆の通りが然るべきとのこと。これにより、なお高家衆と奏者番衆に確認したところ、詰番のみが登城するとのこと。やはり御礼のない二十八日で御成がある場合は、詰日のみ出仕すべき旨を申し合わせた。もちろん防州にも厳重にその段を申し達した。
もちろん大納言様の御成の節は残らず登城する積もりで申し合わせたこと。

On the 17th day of the 7th month of Genbun 3, Year of the Horse, Lord Sakai Bingo-no-kami and Lord Manabe Wakasa-no-kami were serving their duty day when the ōmetsuke (chief inspector) instructed Lord Wakasa-no-kami to withdraw because he was in mourning. Subsequently, regarding this matter, Lord Matsudaira Izu-no-kami spoke to the ōmetsuke, and Lords Miyake Suō-no-kami and Inō Shimotsuke strictly conveyed that henceforth, those in mourning should arrange substitute duty attendance on the 17th of each month as appropriate. This was communicated via circular letter from Lord Sakai Bingo-no-kami on the following 18th day.
On the 28th day when there is no monthly ceremony, during the Shōgun's hawking excursions, only the kōke-shū (high families) and sōja-ban-shū (protocol officers) attend the castle. Therefore, it would be appropriate for the Gan-no-ma (Wild Goose Room attendants) to follow suit. However, after attending on the 28th and consulting with Miyake Bōshū, it was said that abstaining would be difficult, and following the example of the protocol officers would be appropriate. Accordingly, upon further consultation with the high families and protocol officers, it was confirmed that only the duty guards attend the castle. Indeed, on the 28th day without ceremony when there is an imperial visit, only those on duty should attend, as agreed upon. Of course, this matter was also strictly communicated to Bōshū.
Naturally, during visits by the Dainagon (Major Counselor), it was agreed that all should attend the castle without exception.
