一、十月二十八日、菅沼七郎左衛門より申し聞かせた内容として：御女中様方の御忌日において、御名代・御代参の儀については、この度、御中老が相勤めるよう仰せ出された。その節、御徒目付壱人が相詰めるよう、また附人（つきびと）の儀についても申し付けるべき旨、詳しく御書付を相渡されたので、その趣を御徒目付へ申し渡した。途中の附人については、その節の御小人へ申し付けるよう御徒目付へ申し付け置いた。右の御書付を以下に記す。

**Item — 28th day of the 10th month:** Suganuma Shichirōzaemon conveyed the following: regarding the *o-naidai* (representative) and *o-daisan* (proxy worship) at the death anniversary observances (*kijitsu*) for the ladies of the inner quarters (*go-jochū-sama-gata*), it has been decreed on this occasion that the *go-chūrō* (Middle Elders) shall perform this duty. A detailed written notice was handed over to the effect that one *o-kachi-metsuke* shall also attend on such occasions, and that arrangements for *o-tsukibito* (accompanying escorts) shall likewise be made. The contents were accordingly conveyed to the *o-kachi-metsuke*. Regarding escorts along the route, instructions were given to the *o-kachi-metsuke* to direct the *o-kōnin* (minor attendants) on duty at the time. The said written notice is recorded below.

The above are death anniversary observances (*kijitsu*); proxy worship (*o-daibai*) shall be performed by the *go-chūrō* (Middle Elders).
*Proviso:* Should the *go-chūrō* have other official duties, the *o-shoin-bangashira* (Captain of the Shoin Guard) shall perform the duty; should the *o-shoin-bangashira* also have other official duties, the *Goyōnin* shall perform it.
The above applies during years when the lord resides in the domain (*go-zaikoku*): proxy worship shall be assigned to the *go-chūrō*. In years of the lord's absence, the previous customs shall apply.
