現代語訳
**安永六年（1777年）酉年**
三月十七日、江戸において林八右衛門より申し聞かされた内容：毎月の御寺への参詣について、定められた日に自然と延引（延期）になることがあっても、御家老中が御名代（代参）を務めるべきこととなっており、その際には我々（御用人）のうち一人が詰めるよう仰せ出されたとのこと。
さらに、諸事については別紙書付の通り心得るべき旨、申し聞かされた由。その書付を以下に記す。
**御在国中、毎月の参詣**

- 御家老中に御用がある節は御中老が勤め、御用がある節は御書院番頭が勤め、御書院番頭が勤めがたい節は御用人が勤める。
- 御家老中が御名代を務める際に御寺へ参られる面々については、御用がある節は御側物頭が勤めるべきこと。御側物頭・御目付に御用がある節は藤田加左衛門・大道寺七右衛門（御徒目付）が勤めるべきこと。手水番は御坊主が務める。
右の通り先に参られた後、御家老中が到着された節には出迎え申すべきこと。

**An'ei 6th Year (1777), Year of the Rooster**
On the 17th day of the 3rd month, the following was communicated by Hayashi Hachiemon at Edo:
Regarding the monthly pilgrimages to the temple on their designated dates — even when these visits are naturally postponed, the senior councillors (karō-chū) are to serve as representatives (proxy visitors), and it has been decreed that one of us (the goyōnin, senior administrators) shall attend on such occasions.
Furthermore, regarding all other matters, one should conduct oneself in accordance with the separate written notice. That notice is recorded below.
**Monthly pilgrimages during the lord's residence in the domain:**

When postponed, the senior councillors shall serve as proxies.
- New Year and Obon pilgrimages shall continue as before; when postponed, the senior councillors shall serve as proxies.
- When the senior councillors are otherwise occupied, the middle councillors (chūrō) shall perform the duty; when those are occupied, the goshoin-bangashira (guards captain) shall perform the duty; and when the guards captain is unable to perform it, the goyōnin (senior administrator) shall do so.
- Regarding those who proceed to the temple when the senior councillors are serving as proxies: when the side-commanders (osoba-monogashira) have other duties, Fujita Kasaemon and Dōdōji Shichizaemon (foot inspector, okachi-metsuke) shall perform the duty. The water-basin attendants (temizuban) shall be the obōzu (Buddhist temple attendants affiliated with the domain).
After proceeding ahead in the above manner, when the senior councillors arrive, one is to go out to meet them.
