- 江戸留守（在国中）の面々の荷物・書状については、なるべく重く嵩張らないようにすること。つまるところ、書状が残ってしまえば、各人の用事にも差し支えが生じることになる。
- 江戸定府の親類、ならびに知行の御擬作等を受け取る立場の面々については、やむを得ない用事および他所との文通は格別（例外）とする。それ以外の、年始・暑中見舞い・寒中見舞い・吉凶何事によらず、支配筋への願い事であっても、通常の文通は決してすべきでないこと。
右の趣旨については以前より申し達してきたところであるが、（規律が）弛んで乱れた状態となってきたため、改めて触れ知らせる。心得違いのないようにすること。

- Regarding the luggage and letters of those remaining in Edo (while their lords are in the home domain): these shall be made as light and compact as possible. After all, if letters are left behind, it will cause inconvenience to each person's affairs.
- For those permanently stationed in Edo (jōfu) and their relatives, as well as those receiving stipend rice allotments (gigi-saku) and the like: unavoidable business matters and correspondence with other places shall be treated as exceptions. Outside of these exceptions, ordinary correspondence—whether for New Year's greetings, summer or winter salutations, matters of celebration or condolence, or petitions to one's superiors—shall absolutely not be conducted.
The above points have been repeatedly communicated previously, but as discipline has slackened and things have become disorderly, this notice is hereby issued anew. Ensure there are no misunderstandings.

**Tenmei 1st Year (1781), Year of the Ox**
On the 3rd day of the 6th month, the following was communicated by Inaba Oribu: Regarding temple visits (go-sankei) and the sending of proxy representatives (go-naidai) in Edo, it was decreed that—as in the home domain (Fukui)—henceforth the same shall apply to both temples in Edo. The separate written document was handed over as follows:
