**十月九日**
磯野多宮が申し聞かせた内容：別紙御書付の通り、今後は江戸・国元ともに、御送り書および御用状においても、書付の趣旨に従って記すよう仰せ出されたとのことである。これを受けて、御徒目付・組物書らにも右の書付の写しを作成し、今後間違いのないよう申し付けた。なお、江戸表へも書付を送り、この趣旨を申し越すよう仰せ出されたので、同月十七日の御飛脚便にて申し遣わした。書付は左の通り：
- 御出（お出かけ）のことは → 「御出殿」と記すこと
- 御帰りのことは → 「御帰殿」と記すこと
- どこへお出かけになるかということは → 「何方へ被為入（いずかたへいらせられ）」と記すこと
- お立ち寄りの場所のことは → 「御膳所 何方へ被為入」と記すこと
右の通り心得えて記し方等を徹底するよう、先の子年（天明元年・1780年）にも仰せ出されたところ、行き届いていなかったため、再び仰せ出されることとなった。今後、間違いがあった場合は、厳しく仰せ出されることになるので、御目付らに書付を渡しておくこと。

**十一月二十四日**
牧野主膳より別紙の通り申し聞かされたので、江戸表へも遣わした。
御茶弁当（茶の御用）に際しては、これまで御徒が一人付いていたが、諸家ではいずれもこのような扱いはなく、坊主（御坊主）は是非とも付けるべきものであるので、今後は江戸・国元ともに、御茶方の御坊主のみを添え、御徒は付けるのを止めるよう仰せ出された。なお、江戸表については、来る正月元日の若殿様の御登城の節より取り計らうよう、また国元については近日中の御出殿の節より止めるよう仰せ出された。以上。

In cases where persons in mourning are present during purification ceremonies (o-kiyome), it is henceforth decreed that those in mourning shall be relieved of duty starting from the seventh hour (approx. 4:00 p.m.) of the preceding day.

**9th Day of the 10th Month**
Isono Tamiya communicated the following: In accordance with the attached written directive, it is henceforth decreed that in both Edo and the home domain, all courier correspondence (o-okuri-gaki) and official dispatches (go-yōjō) shall be written using the terminology specified in the directive. Accordingly, copies of said directive were prepared and distributed to the foot inspectors (okachi-metsuke) and the unit clerks (kumi-monokaki), with instructions to ensure there are no errors henceforth. Furthermore, as it was decreed that the directive be forwarded to Edo with instructions to communicate this intent, it was sent via express courier on the 17th day of the same month. The directive reads as follows:
- For the lord's departure: → write **"go-shutsu-den"** (御出殿, "Departed the residence")
- For the lord's return: → write **"go-ki-den"** (御帰殿, "Returned to the residence")
- For indicating the lord's destination: → write **"izukata e irasare"** (何方へ被為入, "Proceeded to [such-and-such place]")
- For the lord's stopover location: → write **"go-zensho, izukata e irasare"** (御膳所何方へ被為入, "Proceeded to [such-and-such place] for a meal stop")
The above instructions for how to understand and write these terms were already decreed in the previous Year of the Rat (Tenmei 1, 1780), but as they had not been properly observed, the decree is issued once again. Should there be any errors henceforth, a stern reproof will be issued. The directive shall be conveyed in writing to the inspectors (metsuke).

Hashiba (Inaba) Oribu communicated the following: It was decreed as stated in the attached document, and all parties shall take note accordingly:
- What was formerly called **"o-ima"** (御居間, "private sitting room") shall henceforth be referred to as **"o-za-no-ma"** (御座之間, "audience chamber / sitting room").
- What was formerly called **"o-nema"** (御寝間, "bedchamber") shall henceforth be referred to as **"o-kyūsoku"** (御休息, "resting room").

**24th Day of the 11th Month**
The following was communicated by Makino Shūzen via attached document, and was accordingly forwarded to Edo:
Regarding the tea-serving attendant detail (o-cha bentō): although previously one foot soldier (okachi) was assigned to accompany this duty, in other domain households no such arrangement exists, and it is an established practice that a Buddhist attendant (bōzu) must be assigned. Therefore, it is henceforth decreed that, in both Edo and the home domain, only the tea-ceremony Buddhist attendant (o-cha-kata go-bōzu) shall accompany the tea duty, and the foot soldier (okachi) shall no longer be assigned. As regards Edo, this arrangement shall take effect from the New Year's Day visit to Edo Castle by the Young Lord; as regards the home domain, it shall take effect from the lord's next imminent departure from the residence. That is all.
