手紙をもって申し達する。さて、去る亥年（寛政三年）に仰せ付けられた奥山里御門番について、御杉形の者は以後差し止めとなるので、明二十五日に御先筒の者へ引き渡した上で引き取るよう、それぞれ申し付けられるべきである。以上。

【享和二戌年（1802年）】
○このたび御養子とされた本之丞様については、今後「若殿様」と称し奉るべき旨、また若殿様・御前様という順序であるので、支配下の末々まで申し渡すこと。
○登城の日に折り合いの節の恐悦（御礼の挨拶）および自分の御祝事などについて、これまでは別段、御座所の日に罷り出ていたが、その必要はなく、今後は御本丸において申し上げるべきである。
ただし、同役が引き取る（交代する）節は御座所へ罷り出るべきこと。
八月朔日
右の通り心得るよう、多賀谷権兵衛が書付をもって申し聞かせた。

Communicated by letter: Regarding the guard at the Oku-Yamazato Gate (奥山里御門番) as ordered in the aforementioned Year of the Boar (Kansei 3), the Osugikata personnel are henceforth relieved of this duty; arrangements are to be made so that on the morning of the 25th, they hand over the post to the Osakizutsu personnel and withdraw. The above is so ordered.

Item: The guard post at the wicket gate beside the kitchen (御台処脇木戸御門番所) was notified by verbal memorandum that, since said gate is no longer in use, all matters are to be conducted as they were prior to the Year of the Boar.
Item: The guard post at the outer wicket gate of the rear garden entrance (御庭御裏口外木戸御門番所) was notified that on the morning of the 25th, they are to hand over the flags and spears to the construction office (御作事方) and then withdraw. Furthermore, as said gate is no longer in use, the posted regulations (御定書) were ordered to be removed.

**Kōwa 2, Year of the Dog (1802)**
○ Regarding Hon-no-jō-sama, who has been adopted as heir on this occasion, henceforth he is to be addressed and referred to as "Wakatono-sama" (Young Lord). Furthermore, as the order of address is Wakatono-sama followed by Omae-sama, this is to be conveyed to all those under authority, down to the lowest ranks.
○ Regarding the formal congratulatory greetings (恐悦, kyōetsu) on castle-attendance days and personal celebratory occasions: whereas heretofore one would make a separate appearance on the day of the O-zashō (御座所), this is no longer necessary; henceforth such matters are to be presented at the O-Honmaru.
However, when a colleague of the same post withdraws (i.e., is relieved), one is to present oneself at the O-zashō.

The above is to be understood accordingly, as conveyed by Tagaya Gonbē in a written notice.
