手紙をもって申し達する。さて、去る亥年に仰せ付けられた奥山里御門番について、御杉形の者は以後取りやめとなる間、明二十五日に御先筒の者へ引き渡した上で引き取るよう、それぞれに申し付けられたく候。以上。

一、御台所脇木戸御門番所へ：右の御門が不要となったことにより、諸事亥年より以前のとおり心得て勤めるよう、口上扣（こうじょうひかえ）をもって申し付けたこと。
一、御庭御裏口外木戸御門番所へ：明二十五日の朝、旗・槍を御作事方へ引き渡した上で引き取るよう申し付けた。また、右の御門が不要となったことにより、御定書を剥ぎ取らせたこと。

○この度、御養子に迎えられた本之丞様については、以後「若殿様」と申し奉るべき旨。また、若殿様・御前様と申す御順序であることを、支配末々まで申し渡した。
○登城の日に折り合い（都合が重なる）の節の恐悦、並びに自分の御祝い等について、これまでは別段、御座所の日に罷り出ていたが、その儀には及ばず、以来は御本丸において申し上げるべきこと。
ただし、同役が引き取った節には、御座所へ罷り出るべきこと。
八月朔日
右のとおり心得るよう、多賀谷権兵衛が書付をもって申し聞かせた。
一、享和三亥年（1803年）
一、七月二十二日 日向守様については、以後御両敬（ごりょうけい）をもって仰せ出されたこと申し達した。
一子（ある者）、四月三日、嶋田清左衛門より申し聞かされた。阿部播磨守様については、以後御両敬のお取り扱いとなること。また、右の趣を御役人共にも申し通すべき旨につき、それぞれに達した。

The following is communicated by letter: Regarding the guard duty at the Inner Yamazato Gate (奥山里御門), as ordered during the aforementioned Year of the Hog, the members of the Sugikata guard unit (御杉形) are henceforth relieved of this duty. On the morning of the 25th — tomorrow — they are to hand over their duties to the advance gun unit (御先筒) and then withdraw. Please ensure that each party is so instructed. That is all.

Please carry this out immediately. Furthermore, the lock and key of said gate are to be retained at your office. That is all.

Item: To the guardhouse at the wicket gate beside the kitchen (御台所脇木戸御門番所): As said gate is no longer needed, all matters are to be conducted as they were before the Year of the Hog. This was communicated orally via a written memorandum (口上扣).
Item: To the guardhouse at the wicket gate outside the rear garden entrance (御庭御裏口外木戸御門番所): On the morning of the 25th — tomorrow — the flags and spears are to be handed over to the construction and works office (御作事方) before withdrawing. Furthermore, as said gate is no longer needed, the posted regulations (御定書) were ordered to be removed.

**Kōwa 2, Year of the Dog (1802)**
○ Regarding Motoyuki-no-Jō, who has been adopted as heir on this occasion: henceforth he is to be addressed and referred to as "Wakatono-sama" (Young Lord). Furthermore, the order of address is "Wakatono-sama" followed by "Omae-sama," and this has been conveyed to all those under authority, down to the lowest ranks.
○ Regarding the formal congratulatory audience (恐悦) on the occasion of one's castle visit coinciding with a celebratory day, as well as personal congratulations and the like — though it has been the custom until now to make a separate appearance on the day of the lord's residential quarters (御座所の日), this is no longer necessary. Henceforth, such matters are to be presented at the Main Keep (御本丸).
However, when a colleague retires from duty, one should continue to appear at the lord's residential quarters (御座所).

One entry: On the 3rd day of the 4th month, Shimada Seizaemon conveyed the following: His Lordship Abe Harima-no-Kami is henceforth to be accorded dual honorific treatment (御両敬). Furthermore, as this should also be communicated to the relevant officials, each party was duly notified.
