追って、御歓び等の書状が差し上げられたことにつき、これまで御留守の年には披露が済んだ段、両度にわたって通達に及んだところ、御省略中につき、以後は御着城以前のみ通達に及ぶ段、申し聞かせた。

**御供頭へ申し渡す覚**
一、地廻り・遠方ともに、以後、御参詣の節はこれまでのとおり両人を召し連れ、御城下廻り・野廻り・御出殿の節は壱人を召し連れること。
一、御場内は先年御目付が立った所へ立ち、御用がある場合はすみやかに御先に駆け服（かけふく）取り計らうこと。
但し、右のとおり仰せ付けられたことにより、御参詣の節、両人のうち故障（さしつかえ）があって壱人が助（たすけ）となる節は、前日に罷り出て助の儀を達すること。
一、御本丸御供は、これまでのとおりとすること。

**御時宜役へ申し渡す覚**
一、御城下廻り・野廻り・御出殿の節、御供頭が壱人となる間、以後、各々のうち壱人ずつ召し連れること。
但し、右の勤め振りは左のとおり。
一、御座所にて御庭口より御出殿の節は、立落場（たちおちば）木戸の外に罷り在ること。
一、御行列中は御供頭の立つ所へ立つこと。
一、御膳所にて下宿（げしゅく）致すこと。
一、野廻りの節は、御先供のとおり立落（たちおち）仕ること。
一、御城下廻りの節は、御先役にて立落場は御供頭と同様に心得るべきこと。
一、御参詣の節も、御供頭のうち故障があって出勤仕らない場合は、御時宜役より壱人、次に召し連れ、御裏通り御参詣の節は御座所木戸の外より御供を相勤め、御行列中ならびに御先方での立落場は御供頭のとおり相勤めること。
但し、遠方御参詣の際は、御先にて下宿仕ること。
一、何事によらず、御供頭・御時宜役が壱人残りとなって一行となった節は、御近習向きより継立（つぎたて）申さざるよう申し渡すこと。
一、御行列中、御渡船の節は、これまで御供頭が乗って来た御次舟へ乗ること。

Additionally, regarding letters of congratulation (御歓び) that have been presented: as it had previously been communicated on two occasions that, during years when the lord was away, the presentation of such letters was considered complete, and since this falls within a period of austerity measures (御省略中), henceforth notifications are to be made only prior to the lord's return to the castle. This was duly communicated.

**Memorandum of Instructions to the Escort Captain (御供頭)**
Item: For both local circuits (地廻り) and distant outings (遠方), henceforth, on the occasion of shrine and temple visits (御参詣), two escorts are to accompany the lord as before; on occasions of castle town circuits (御城下廻り), field circuits (野廻り), and departures from the castle (御出殿), one escort is to accompany.
Item: Within the castle grounds (御場内), the escort captain is to stand at the post where the inspector (御目付) formerly stood, and should any matter arise, he is to make haste and handle it ahead of the procession.
Proviso: In accordance with the above instruction, should one of the two escorts be unavailable (故障) during a shrine or temple visit such that only one is available to assist, this must be reported the day before by attending in person to notify of the assistance arrangement.
Item: Escort duty at the Main Keep (御本丸) is to continue as before.

**Memorandum of Instructions to the Protocol Officer (御時宜役)**
Item: As the escort captain will number only one person during castle town circuits, field circuits, and departures from the castle, henceforth one person from among the protocol officers is to accompany on each such occasion.
Proviso: The manner of performing these duties is as follows:
Item: When the lord departs from the residential quarters (御座所) through the garden entrance (御庭口), the officer is to stand outside the wicket gate at the designated standing post (立落場).
Item: During the procession, the officer is to stand at the same post as the escort captain.
Item: The officer is to lodge at the meal hall (御膳所).
Item: During field circuits (野廻り), the officer is to take up the standing post in the same manner as the advance escort (御先供).
Item: During castle town circuits (御城下廻り), the officer is to act in the role of advance officer (御先役), and is to understand the standing post arrangements to be the same as for the escort captain.
Item: Should the escort captain be unavailable even during shrine and temple visits, one protocol officer is to be summoned next; during visits via the rear passage (御裏通り), the officer is to commence escort duty from outside the residential quarters' wicket gate, and the standing post arrangements during the procession and at the advance position are to be carried out in the same manner as for the escort captain.
Proviso: For distant shrine and temple visits, the officer is to lodge at the advance post.
Item: In any situation where the escort captain and protocol officer are reduced to one person combined into a single party, it is hereby instructed that the pages' unit (御近習向き) is not to provide relay assistance (継立).
Item: During river crossings (御渡船) in the course of a procession, the officer is to board the secondary vessel (御次舟) that the escort captain has hitherto boarded.
