一文政七申四月此度格別之御倹約被仰出候ニ付
諸向寄状之儀も兼而厳重申付置候へ共
尚又左之通組小頭へ申付割月番ゟ十二組へ

御飛脚被差立候節御持筒組之者小頭御
用向并組之者宿状之分至而嵩低ニ
仕立壱組ゟ五歩計ニ而指出候様兼而
申付置候処夫々伝を以別封相指出候趣
相聞以後別封ハ勿論小頭状たり共
封嵩指出候ヘハ堅受取申間敷旨物書
共へ厳重申付置候別而此度諸向
御倹約被仰出候へハ尚又心得違無之様

これまで、自然と宿状等を直接差し出す者もいる様子であるが、今後は小頭の名前以外は受け取らないこととするので、右の趣を十二組小頭へ申し伝えること。
【附記】
一、文政七申年（1824年）四月、この度格別の御倹約が仰せ出されたので、諸方面への寄状の件についても、兼ねて厳重に申し付けておいたところではあるが、さらに左の通り組小頭へ申し付け、月番より十二組へ申し通させた。
御飛脚が差し立てられる際、御持筒組の者の小頭への御用向き並びに組の者の宿状については、極めてかさを低く仕立て、一組につき五分ほどにして差し出すよう、兼ねて申し付けておいたところ、それぞれが取り次ぎを通じて別封にて差し出している様子が聞こえてきた。以後、別封はもちろん、小頭の状であっても封のかさが大きい場合は、断固として受け取らない旨を、物書共へも厳重に申し付けておいた。特にこの度、諸方面に御倹約が仰せ出された以上、さらに心得違いのないよう、小頭共は注意を払うこと。

As it appears that some individuals have been directly submitting their residence letters (yado-jō) and similar documents without going through the proper channels, henceforth no such submissions will be accepted unless they are made under the name of the unit sub-chief (kogashira). The relevant parties are to communicate this to the sub-chiefs of the twelve units accordingly.
[Addendum]
1. In the 4th month of Bunsei 7, Year of the Monkey (1824): As an exceptional austerity order (kenkaku) has been issued on this occasion, and although strict instructions regarding correspondence sent to various parties had already been given previously, the following was further communicated to the unit sub-chiefs and disseminated from the monthly duty officer to all twelve units.
When official couriers (o-hikyaku) are dispatched, instructions had previously been given that official business correspondence for the sub-chiefs of the Mochi-zutsugumi (the musket-bearing unit) and residence letters from unit members must be made extremely compact, and submitted with no more than five bu (approx. 15mm) of thickness per unit. However, it has come to light that some have been submitting items in separate sealed packets through intermediaries. Henceforth, it has been strictly communicated to the clerks (monokaki) that not only separate sealed packets, but even letters from sub-chiefs themselves will be firmly refused if their sealed bulk exceeds the permitted thickness. In particular, given that an austerity order has now been issued across all domains, sub-chiefs are to exercise due diligence to ensure there are no further misunderstandings.
