〇江戸京都共不依何事御女中(様)方へ御歓書状御附々迄被指出面々如前々

**Memorandum**
Item, New Year's Greetings: Within both the first and second days of the New Year, you are to appear at the Nanatsu-gura guard post, present yourself to the duty Sōjaban (official announcer/usher), and offer your New Year's felicitations.
Item, Summer Heat Greetings: Within five days of the entering of the *doyō* (midsummer period), you are to appear at the Nanatsu-gura guard post and pay your respects. Among the days within this period, days of abstinence (*shōjin-bi*) are to be excluded.
Item, Cold Season Greetings: Same as above, within the entering of the cold season (*kan*).
Item, On the occasion of auspicious events, etc.: Upon the circulation of a notice from the Senior Elders (karō), within two days, the same procedure as above shall be followed.
All of the above are to take place between the fifth hour of the morning and before the eighth hour.
Item, For personal formal salutations: You are to present yourself and offer your greetings at the residence of the monthly-duty Sōjaban.
Note: As it may be difficult to predict absences due to official duties and other matters, you are requested to inquire in advance whether the person is at home.

○ Regarding the matter of offering felicitations for the Five Annual Festivals and other auspicious occasions to Lady Hatsu-hime, members have hitherto been proceeding to the residences of the monthly-duty Senior Elders to present their congratulations. However, from this point forward, they are to appear at the Nanatsu-gura and offer their congratulations there. One person from among us will be stationed there at all times. The above is hereby communicated as directed. The above.

Item: Kyōhō 15, Year of the Dog (1730)
○ Regarding congratulatory letters addressed to the ladies-in-waiting (御女中様方), whether in Edo or Kyoto, and regardless of the occasion, such letters are to be submitted to their attendants (御附), and members are to continue sending letters in the same manner as before. Although up to now members have been appearing in person at the Nanatsu-gura guard post for this purpose, that practice shall henceforth cease. Please be informed accordingly. The above.
