……の儀、御伺書（おうかがいしょ）を差し出され候処、書面（しょめん）の通り、下馬腰掛（げばこしかけ）内、御三家方（ごさんけがた）供方（ともかた）扣所（ひかえしょ）の次へ棒仕切（ぼうしきり）を致し、以来、供方を入れ置き候様、申し渡し置き候。
右の通り、六月十三日、御目付（おめつけ）大澤主馬（おおさわしゅめ）殿にて御差図（おさしず）。
六月十四日
右の通り仰せ出され候旨、渋谷権左衛門（しぶやごんざえもん）より申し聞かせ候につき、その段、御徒目付（おかちめつけ）へ申し付け、それぞれ申し渡しのこと。
〇先月二十九日、謹姫様（きんひめさま）、阿部伊勢守様（あべいせのかみさま）へ御縁組（おえんぐみ）の御願いの通り仰せ出され候。これにより、上々様（うえうえさま）へ書状をもって御歓（およろこび）を申し上ぐべき旨、追而（おって）書状には「サマノ字」（様の字）、謹姫様阿部伊勢守様と認（したた）め差し上ぐべき旨。
十月二十三日
右の通り、飯田作左衛門（いいださくざえもん）より手紙をもって申し聞けのこと。

江戸にて
〇松平加賀守様（まつだいらかがのかみさま）、今二十四日より以来、御両敬（ごりょうけい）の御取り扱いに相成り候旨、仰せ出され候間、左様に心得、その段、御役人（おやくにん）へも申し通すべき旨、且つ又（かつまた）、支配末々（しはいすえずえ）まで申し聞かせるべき旨。
十一月二十四日
右の通り、御用人（ごようにん）へ申し聞かせ候につき、それぞれへ申し達しのこと。
一、天保九戌年（てんぽうくじゅつねん）
〇年始・五節句（ごせっく）の外、月次出仕（つきなみしゅっし）の次第。
朔日（ついたち） 十五日 十二月のみ二十八日
右、五半時（ごはんどき）に御触（おふれ）に及ばず、登城（とじょう）すべきこと。相止（あいとど）まり候節は御触れ有之候事。
但し、年始・五節句の登城の儀は、前々の通りに候。

…Regarding this matter, a written inquiry (o-ukagai-sho) was submitted, and in accordance with the written response, a partition (bō-shikiri) was to be installed next to the waiting area (hikae-sho) for the retinue (tomo-kata) of the Gosanke [Three Tokugawa Branch Houses] within the dismounting waiting area (geba-koshikake), and instructions were given that henceforth the retinue members shall be placed therein.
The above directive was given by Inspector (o-metsuke) Ōsawa Shume on the 13th day of the 6th month.
14th day of the 6th month
Shibuja Gonzaemon communicated that the above had been decreed; accordingly, instructions were given to the Foot Inspectors (o-kachi-metsuke), who conveyed them to their respective charges.
〇 On the 29th of last month, it was decreed that the marriage of Lady Kin-hime to Lord Abe Ise-no-Kami shall proceed as requested. Accordingly, letters of congratulation are to be sent to the higher lords (ue-ue-sama); furthermore, in subsequent correspondence, the form of address shall be written as "Lady Kin-hime [wife of] Lord Abe Ise-no-Kami," using the character "sama" (様).

〇 It has been decreed that from this 24th day forward, Lord Matsudaira Kaga-no-Kami shall be accorded the treatment of "go-ryōkei" (mutual respect/equal ceremonial salutation). Please take note accordingly, and convey this to the relevant officials; furthermore, this is to be communicated down to all those under [your] jurisdiction.
24th day of the 11th month
The above was communicated to the Senior Administrator (go-yōnin), and has accordingly been conveyed to all relevant parties.
1. Tenpō 9 (1838), Year of the Dog
〇 Regarding the schedule for monthly attendance at the castle (tsuki-nami shutsushi), excluding New Year and the Five Seasonal Festivals (go-sekku):
1st day of each month 15th day 28th day (for the 12th month only)
For the above, attendance at the castle shall take place without awaiting a special notice (o-fure) at the hour of go-han-toki [approximately 8 a.m.]. When attendance is suspended, a notice (o-fure) will be issued.
Note: Attendance at the castle for New Year and the Five Seasonal Festivals shall follow the previous customary procedures.
