いぼここり（いぼしめじ）
信陽菌譜に載せられた図。同書によると、シメジタケに似ているが形は小さい。一座に数百本が群生する。味は劣り、中品とするという。
ぬめり
同書に載せられた図。同書によると、シメジに似ているが実際は違う。味は最も劣り、これを食べると腹痛や下痢をするという。

楠本氏の図。皇和蕈譜によると、下総佐倉にもキノコを産する土地があり、あるいはこれがある。備前宮山に生えるものは深紫色で鮮明、たいへん珍しいとする。野菜として味は美味で、毒はないという。

Wart-clusters (Wart shimeji)
An illustration from the Shin'yō Kinpu (Shin'yō Mushroom Catalog). According to the same book, it resembles shimeji mushrooms but is smaller in form. Several hundred grow in clusters at one location. The taste is inferior, classified as medium grade.
Slippery mushroom
An illustration from the same book. According to the same book, it resembles shimeji but is actually different. The taste is the worst, and eating it causes abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Purple shimeji
An illustration by Mr. Kusumoto. According to the Kōwa Shinpu (Kōwa Mushroom Catalog), there are also mushroom-producing areas in Shimōsa Sakura, and this may be found there. Those growing on Mount Miya in Bizen are deep purple and vivid, considered extremely rare. As a vegetable, the taste is delicious and there is no poison.
