現代語訳

みやましめじ
看過に載せられた図。菌史によると、榊の木の多い場所に生える。痩せた頭部と太い脚を持ち、一本から叢生する。五、六茎あるいは七、八茎で、表面は黒色、裏面は白く、極めて柔らかで美味である。乾燥させて遠方に送ることができる。常陸の人はこれを「ねずみ菌」と呼ぶという。

あしたかしめじ
菌史に載せられた図。産物写生によると、しめじに似ているが長い脚を持つ。傘の表面は褐色、また淡い赤褐色のものもある。底面は白く、擦った跡のような紋様がある。食用には適さないという。

Miyama shimeji (Mountain shimeji)
An illustration from the Kanko. According to the Kinshi (Mushroom History), it grows in places where sakaki trees are abundant. It has a thin cap and thick stem, growing in clusters from a single base. Five to six stems, or sometimes seven to eight stems, with a black surface and white underside, extremely soft and delicious. It can be dried and sent to distant places. People from Hitachi call this "nezumi kin" (mouse mushroom).

Ashitaka shimeji
An illustration from the Kinshi (Mushroom History). According to the Sanbutsu Shasei (Natural Products Sketches), it resembles shimeji but has long stems. The cap surface is brown, and some have light reddish-brown coloring. The underside is white with rubbed-like patterns. It is said to be inedible.
