一次の女はかくへつそれより上の女一切すゑへまかり出へからす惣してさわかしからさるやうこゝ
ろへ可申事
附いちやけんはかくへつ次の女はもちろんはした下女等にいたるまてしめきりより外へ一切出
へからすもしようの事これあるともしめきりのしきゐをへたてようむきたし可申候事
一やとおりの事一しゆくにかきるへしもしよりところなきわけこれあるか又はわつらひニてかへり
かたき時は八十次又市両人のうちへやとよりことわり申こしそのものはいちやかたへとゝけさし

可申候寺社郷方町々之音信一切不留置返し可申候札守は天王秋葉金閑丸之外差越候共返し可申事
一病人有之医者入候節は八十次又市より申越左近は物縫所其外者火燵之間にていちやと立合逢せ可
申候次之女老女下女等者けんと立合にて末ニて逢せ可申候尤両人のものも壱人立合可申候事
一若表向之者共猥に広敷へ相越候者蜜に用懸のものへ可申達候事
附商売人も定り候者之外一切広敷へ呼申間敷候事

【本文】
一、次の女は格別、それより上の女は一切末へ罷り出でるべからず。総じて騒がしからざるよう心得申すべき事
付、一者（いちゃ）・剣は格別、次の女はもちろん端下女等に至るまで、締切りより外へ一切出でるべからず。もし用の事これあるとも、締切りの敷居を隔て用向き達し申すべき事
一、宿泊りの事は一宿に限るべし。もしより所なき訳これあるか、または患いにて帰り難き時は、八十次・又市両人のうちへ宿より断り申し越し、そのものは一者方へ届けさし、宿泊いたすべき事
一、一者は格別、宿泊りの外一切他へ罷り出でるべからざる事
付、剣は一者差し宿泊、いずかたへも罷り出でるべき事
右の通り堅く相守るべきものなり

1. Regarding the next-ranking women: except for special circumstances, all women of higher rank than them shall not go out to the servants' quarters. In general, care shall be taken that there be no disturbances.
Addition: Except for Icha and Ken in special circumstances, from the next-ranking women to all the servant girls, none shall go outside the restricted area. Even if there are necessary matters, official business shall be conducted across the threshold of the restricted area.
1. Overnight stays shall be limited to one night. If there are circumstances where there is no place to stay, or if someone cannot return due to illness, notification shall be sent to either Yasoji or Mataichi, and such person shall be registered with the Icha quarters for lodging.
1. Except for Icha in special circumstances, no one shall go out elsewhere besides for lodging.
Addition: Ken may stay overnight with Icha and may go out anywhere.
The above shall be strictly observed.

1. For all gates and passes, as well as items received at the hiroshiki quarters, they shall be received with the joint seals of both Kusumoto Yasoji and Nagashio Mataichi. For urgent matters, consultation shall be made with the administrators.
Addition: Joint seal specimens of both men shall be deposited at gates or administrative offices.
1. The separation of men and women is of utmost importance. Lock gates shall be opened at 6 AM and strictly closed at 6 PM, and shall never be opened for private purposes.
Addition: Gambling and disruptive behavior among male and female servants shall be completely eliminated through inspection.
1. Special attention shall be paid to fire safety. Occasionally both men shall enter within the locked area to inspect fire safety. When wind is blowing, both shall make joint rounds of all locations.

They shall conduct inspections. Also, occasionally checking whether there is any structural damage, inspecting reception rooms and other chambers, and if there is damage, it shall be reported to Masui Okaemon. All entrances shall be sealed with locks by both men as before. Reception rooms and gardens shall be occasionally cleaned. The interior of reception rooms shall not be constantly occupied, allowing for air circulation, and especially shall be secured each evening.
1. For any matter that requires no special consideration, application shall be made to administrators and duty personnel. When food preparation is needed, Kobayashi Yogozaemon shall be summoned and given instructions.
1. Any correspondence or gifts to the inner quarters shall be inspected by the duty personnel. If there is any suspicious correspondence, it shall be immediately reported to the duty personnel for instructions. All correspondence from temples, shrines, rural areas, and towns shall not be kept but returned. Protective amulets other than those from Tennō, Akiha, and Konpira shall be returned even if sent.
1. When there are sick people and doctors enter, notification shall come from Yasoji and Mataichi. Sakon shall meet at the sewing room, others at the heated room, meeting with Icha present. Next-ranking women, elderly women, servant women, etc., shall meet at the end with Ken present. Of course, one of the two men shall also be present.
1. If any of the front-rank personnel improperly come to the hiroshiki quarters, this shall be secretly reported to the duty personnel.
Addition: Merchants other than those regularly appointed shall never be called to the hiroshiki quarters.

**Instructions to Duty Personnel**
1. Duty personnel shall occasionally visit and meet with Icha, Yasoji, and Mataichi, instructing them to be attentive to all matters. However, as Icha alone has many duties, there may be times when she cannot come out even if called. For internal matters, everything has been discussed with the administrators beforehand. For important matters, they shall be reported to Sukezaemon and handled according to his instructions.
