巳か身ありとも思はさりけり
同人の妻家まつしきあまりに薪をたき盡しける時
冬かれし軒のつま木もたきすてゝ
庭におち葉のつもるひまなき
長州吉田寅次郎辞世とて
身はたとひ武蔵の野辺にくちぬとも
とゝめなかましたまとたましひ
此外ニも承及候も数多有之候へ共帰国のうへ御物語可申と萬々申越候此書状御一見の上羽田西
宿蓬宇君等へ御廻被下度奉願候以上

江戸御本丸並大阪当御屋敷二ケ所共類焼誠以歎息の至極
頼三樹の絶命の歌とて此比始て承り候は
我か罪は君か代をおもふ真心の
ふかゝらさりししるしなるらん
誠ニ感慨の至梅田源次郎の
君か代を思ふ心の一筋に

一、大橋の事とんと不分明ニ御座候格別の事無之哉との事ニ御座候

過日亀井氏へ御あつらへ申候趣意書は長澤松平氏へ来り候て長州へ欠込候内田萬之助の書置と
申事ニ御座候右書付御写相済候はゞ早々御かへし可被下候先は匁々

一件とは坂下門外にて閣老安藤対馬守が要撃されし事を指せるにて桂コウ五郎とあるは
桂小五郎にて後の木戸孝允、大橋とあるは当時の斬奸趣意書に添削を加へたりと伝ふる
大橋順蔵(訥庵)が事、又た内田萬之助は安藤閣老要撃同盟者の一人にして後に長藩邸に

【本文】

冬枯れし軒の端木も焚き捨てて
庭に落ち葉の積もる暇なき
長州吉田寅次郎辞世として
身はたとえ武蔵の野辺に朽ちぬとも
留めなかましたま（魂）とたましい
このほかにも承り及んだものが数多くあるが、帰国の上お話し申そうと万々申し越した。この書状ご一見の上、羽田西宿蓬宇君等へお回し下されたくお願い申し上げる。以上

"I thought not even of my own existence"
When the same person's wife, in extreme poverty, had burned up all the firewood:
"Having burned even the winter-withered eave timbers,
In the garden there is no time for fallen leaves to accumulate"
Choshu Yoshida Torajiro's death poem:
"Though my body may rot in the fields of Musashi,
Let my spirit and soul remain behind"
Besides these, I have heard many others, but I will tell you about them when I return home, as I have written many times before. After reading this letter, please pass it on to Haneda Nishijuku Houkyu-kun and others. That is all.
(Note) The above letter was sent by Sakaki from Edo to his relative Iida Takebei in Arai, Totomi Province, in Ansei 6 (1859).
Both the main castle in Edo and the current mansion in Osaka were destroyed by fire - truly the height of lamentation.
Rai Mikki's death poem, which I heard for the first time recently:
"My sin is evidence that my sincere heart
Thinking of our sovereign's reign was not deep enough"
This is truly moving. Together with Umeda Genjiro's:
"With a heart devoted single-mindedly to our sovereign's reign..."

First, regarding the Jogen incident, it has failed - this is factual. Choshu's Katsura Kogoro also recently concluded the matter without incident, from which you can understand the situation.
First, regarding Ohashi's matter, it is completely unclear. It seems there is nothing particularly significant about it.
I have heard and received the above information.
The statement of purpose that was ordered from Mr. Kamei the other day refers to the written record left by Uchida Man-nosuke, who came to Nagazawa Matsudaira and then fled to Choshu. Please return the copy of this document as soon as you finish copying it. Written hastily.

(Note) This letter was sent by Sakaki from his home to Iida Takebei and is likely from Bunkyu 2 (1862). The "Jogen incident" refers to the attack on Senior Councilor Ando Tsushima-no-kami outside the Sakashita Gate. Katsura Kogoro refers to Katsura Kogoro, later known as Kido Takayoshi. Ohashi refers to Ohashi Totsuan (Junzo), who is said to have edited the "Statement of Purpose for Eliminating Traitors" of that time. Uchida Man-nosuke was one of the conspirators in the attack on Senior Councilor Ando and later fled to the Choshu domain residence.
