●東観音寺（●●●●） 小沢村大字小松原に在り豊橋を
距る二里余小松原観音と称し其名遠近に聞ゆ
臨済宗にして人皇四十五代聖武天皇御代天平
聖暦五年行基法師の建立に係る同帝勅願所の
綸旨并に宸筆の勅額二枚を下し玉ひ山門及本
門に掲ぐ古書画古器物等稀代のもの数多あり
土地高峻にして堂宇又観つべし

近年海水浴場を開く豊橋町より牟呂渡船場を
経て嘱目の内にあり風浪静にして網を投ずべ
く魚を釣るべく好箇の避暑地なり往昔既に紫
式部の歌あり

おいつ島しまもる神やいさむらん

田原湾を抱き豊橋に次ての市街なり往古は皇
太神宮の御神領なりしと見へて神鳳抄に田原
御厨とあり其後年歴を経て明応年中戸田弾正
左右衛門宗光当所に築城して居住し後三宅氏
一万二千石の封地にて城主となり子孫相次ぎ
明治の初めに至る城趾は市街の北隅にありて
巴江神社及幕末の名士渡辺華山翁の碑あり風
光頗る佳なり
●蘆（●）ヶ（●）池（●）(阿志神社) 野田村大字芦に在り周
廻凡一里灌漑に便ずる為めに開鑿したるもの
にて田園の景色又賞するに足る特に秋冬の候
鴨雁の群集するありて遊猟の好場所なり池の
近傍に阿志神社と称する古き郷社あり其名又
著る
●鸚鵡石（●●●） 泉村大字馬伏にあり田原町を去る
約三里の山中幽邃なる地にして三間に四間位
の岩石なり之に対し唱歌弾弦すれば反響して
恰も石中人ありて同様の弦歌をなすが如し依
て鸚鵡石の名あり春夏の候杖を曳くもの多し

●蘆ヶ池（阿志神社） 野田村大字芦にあり周回凡そ一里、灌漑に便するために開鑿したるものにて田園の景色また賞するに足る。特に秋冬の候鴨雁の群集するありて遊猟の好場所なり。池の近傍に阿志神社と称する古き郷社あり、その名また著る。
●鸚鵡石 泉村大字馬伏にあり田原町を去ること約三里の山中幽邃なる地にして三間に四間位の岩石なり。これに対し唱歌弾弦すれば反響して恰も石中人ありて同様の弦歌をなすが如し。依って鸚鵡石の名あり。春夏の候杖を曳く者多し。

●Tō-Kannon-ji Temple - Located in Komatsubara, Ozawa Village, over two ri from Toyohashi, called Komatsubara Kannon and its name is known far and wide. It belongs to the Rinzai sect and was built by Priest Gyōki in the 5th year of Tenpyō Shōreki during the reign of the 45th Emperor Shōmu. The Emperor bestowed imperial decrees and two imperial calligraphy plaques for the imperial prayer temple, displayed at the mountain gate and main gate. There are many rare ancient paintings and artifacts, and the land is elevated with halls worth viewing.

●Oizu Island (Sea Bathing) - Refers to Susaki in Oizu Village. In recent years a sea bathing area has been opened. From Toyohashi town via Muro ferry landing, it is within sight, with calm wind and waves where one can cast nets and fish - a fine summer retreat. Long ago there was already a poem by Murasaki Shikibu.

●Tahara Town (Kazan Monument) - Located in the center of the district, embracing Tahara Bay, it is the market town second to Toyohashi. In ancient times it appears to have been imperial shrine land, as it is listed as Tahara Mikuriya in the Shinpō-shō. Later, through the years, during the Meiō period, Toda Danjō Saemon Munemitsu built a castle here and resided there. Later the Miyake clan became castle lords with a fief of 12,000 koku, with descendants continuing until the beginning of Meiji. The castle ruins are in the northern corner of the town with Tomoe-gawa Shrine and a monument to the late Edo period notable Watanabe Kazan, and the scenery is quite beautiful.
●Ashi-ga-ike Pond (Ashi Shrine) - Located in Ashi, Noda Village, about one ri in circumference, excavated for irrigation convenience, and the pastoral scenery is also worth admiring. Especially in autumn and winter when flocks of ducks and geese gather, it is a good hunting spot. Near the pond is an old village shrine called Ashi Shrine, which is also well-known.
●Ōmu-ishi (Parrot Stone) - Located in Mabushi, Izumi Village, about three ri from Tahara town in a secluded mountain location, it is a rock about three ken by four ken in size. When you sing or play stringed instruments facing it, it echoes as if there were people inside the stone making the same music. Hence the name Parrot Stone. Many people come with walking sticks in spring and summer.
