現代語訳
父上の諫言を守り、堅く嫉妬深い心を慎み給えども、お局と奥家老とが相談の夢を見給う。

奥付、石山甚太夫を呼び、次々の女中より「やい、入れ程お腹の良い夫婦仲、大磯辺りにお通いなされ、なかなか私どもなれば大抵の嫉妬深い所ではあるまい。呉服屋へ鱗の小袖を誂え、北川なら丁稚にでも乗って追いかけるに少しもお腹も立たず、如何にしても遊女目が憎い奴、その女郎がいなければこういう事もあるまい。憎くてなりません。嘘偽りはございませんか」と相談する。
「遊女どもの誑しおるは、この方どもの分別にも参らぬ」

Summoning the publisher Ishiyama Jindayū, the ladies-in-waiting speak one after another: "Hey, with such a good relationship between husband and wife, he goes to places like Ōiso. Since we are just servants, this is no ordinary matter of jealousy. We had scaled small sleeves made at the fabric shop, and if it were the Kita River, we'd ride even on an apprentice's back to chase after him, yet we feel no anger at all. No matter what, that courtesan is detestable. If that prostitute weren't there, such things wouldn't happen. She's so hateful we can't stand it. Is there no falsehood in this?" they consult.
"The deceptions of these courtesans are beyond our ladies' understanding."
