公家衆御馳走之御能有之御三家御譜代大名高家
雁之間詰御奏者番菊之間同御縁頬詰諸役人見物

一 今日竹之間御坐席奉行昨日御張紙ニ有馬左兵衛佐殿
我等名前出候由昨日詰日衆ゟ為心得手紙ニ而申来候間登
城候上左兵衛佐殿申談候
一 竹之間御坐席奉行相勤候ニ付御中入前御料理給申
度旨御目付え申談候御中入前左兵衛佐殿我等於中之間
御料理頂戴之
一 腰脚廣蓋相済候以後雁之間え相越圖之処ニ罷在無程
番頭壱人御給仕之中奥衆被参芙蓉之間ニ被並
居候左兵衛佐殿被参御案内致候旨被申候故御出迎
圖之通罷在候
一 左兵衛佐殿御先立ニ而尾張大納言殿紀伊中納言殿水戸
少将殿御出御會釈有之御通圖之処ニ御着坐御跡ニ付圖
之処ニ左兵衛佐殿我等番頭衆着坐無程若年寄衆京極
備前守殿被相越圖之処ニ着坐有之御料理出ル

寛政5年癸丑年10月18日
公家衆への御馳走の御能があり、御三家・御譜代大名・高家・雁の間詰・御奏者番・菊の間同・御縁頬詰の諸役人の見物を仰せ付けられた。
一、今日竹の間御座席奉行について、昨日の御張紙に有馬左兵衛佐殿と我等の名前が出ていた由、昨日詰日衆から心得として手紙で申してきた間、登城の上、左兵衛佐殿と申し談じた。
一、竹の間御座席奉行を相勤めるにつき、御中入前に御料理を給わりたい旨を御目付に申し談じた。御中入前に左兵衛佐殿と我等は中の間において御料理を頂戴した。
一、腰脚・広蓋が済んだ後、雁の間に相越し所定の処に罷り在った。程なく番頭一人が御給仕の中奥衆が参られ、芙蓉の間に並び居られた。左兵衛佐殿が参られ御案内致す旨を申された故、御出迎えを所定の通り罷り在った。
一、左兵衛佐殿を御先立として、尾張大納言殿・紀伊中納言殿・水戸少将殿が御出になり、御会釈があり、御通りを所定の処で行い、御着座の御跡につき所定の処にいた。左兵衛佐殿・我等・番頭衆が着座して程なく、若年寄衆の京極備前守殿が相越され、所定の処に着座があり、御料理が出た。

There was a Noh performance to entertain the court nobles, and viewing was ordered for the Gosanke (three main Tokugawa branch houses), hereditary daimyo, Kōke families, Kari-no-ma attendants, Gōsōsha-ban officials, Kiku-no-ma attendants, Goen-tsura attendants, and various other officials.
1. Regarding today's Takenoma seat magistrate duty, yesterday's posted notice listed the names of Arima Saheiji-no-suke-dono and ourselves. The attendants from yesterday informed us of this by letter as a heads-up, so upon arriving at the castle, I consulted with Saheiji-no-suke-dono.
1. Concerning serving as Takenoma seat magistrate, I consulted with the metsuke (inspector) about receiving a meal before the intermission. Before the intermission, Saheiji-no-suke-dono and I received the meal in the Naka-no-ma (middle room).
1. After completing the preparations with formal dress and ceremonial umbrella, I proceeded to the Kari-no-ma and took my designated position. Soon after, one of the guard captains announced that the inner palace attendants had arrived and were seated in the Fuyō-no-ma (Lotus Room). Since Saheiji-no-suke-dono came and said he would provide guidance, I remained in the designated position to welcome them.
1. With Saheiji-no-suke-dono leading, the Owari Dainagon (Lord of Owari), Kii Chūnagon (Middle Counselor of Kii), and Mito Shōshō (Minor Captain of Mito) made their entrance. There were formal greetings, and they passed through the designated area before taking their seats. After their seating, I remained in the designated position. Saheiji-no-suke-dono, myself, and the guard captains took our seats, and shortly after, Kyōgoku Bizen-no-kami-dono of the wakadoshiyori (junior council) arrived, took his designated seat, and the meal was served.
