れてなやみぬる聲（こへ）かまびすくくすしの西東へ
馳（はせ）るを聞につけ見るに迷（まと）ひいと心づかひして
其夜も東じらみ【東の空がしらじらと明るむこと】をまち明（あく）る三日日もかわりなば
些（ちと）ゆるがんことを祈り人の顔色（かんしよく）かわり俗語（そくこ）に
青い顔といゝ【二行後に同じ言葉が使われているので、「ゝ」と思われる。「ふ」と書きかけて、踊り字を打ったのでは。】ふらせしもむべなる哉只火用心 盗賊（とうそく）
随分心得て油断（ゆたん）なく日夜心を配（くは）りけん異説（いせつ）
浮（ふ）説をいゝふらすものありて捕（とらは）るゝもあり中に

駆け回るのを聞くにつけ見るにつけ迷い、とても心配して
その夜も東白みを待ち、明ける三日目も変わりなければ
少し揺れることを祈り、人の顔色が変わり、俗語に
青い顔と言い表したのももっともなことだ。ただ火の用心、盗賊に
十分心得て油断なく日夜心を配ったであろう。異説や
浮説を言い触らす者があって捕らえられる者もあり、その中で
盗みを働く悪党は天の罪が目前に現れたのだ。町々

手荒いこともできない男も裸足になり
水を汲み運んでいるのもとても面白い。藪を持つ人は藪
或いは野へ食物を運び、老人子供の手を引いて
連れて行く者もある。三日夜もはっきりと明けてしまったが、明け方
六つ時にやや曇って雨がぱらぱらと降り出したところ、
その後一面に雲焼けとなって一面黄色になり、
本当に恐ろしい様子であるのを皆人がそれぞれ

and carried water, which was quite amusing to see. Those who owned bamboo groves took food
to the groves or fields, and some led elderly people and children by the hand,
taking them along. Though three nights had clearly passed, at dawn
around six o'clock it became somewhat cloudy and rain began to sprinkle down.
Afterward the entire sky became covered with burning clouds, turning completely yellow—
a truly frightening sight that everyone respectively
