冬至線に至るまでは、大陸の東岸はすべて巌石が崩れた跡を残している。これは上古の大洪水が東より来た時、国土の大半を飲み込み滅ぼし、その後に残った所の断崖が度々の海の浸食に遭って削り取られ、最も堅固な部分が今に存在するのみである。
第九篇 国家地理学
地球の全表面を分けて五部とする。すなわちヨーロッパ、アジア、アフリカ、アメリカ、オーストラリアである。右の五世界はまた各々数か国に分かれ、毎国にその人民があり、各自の政令を建ててこれを治める。これを国政という。国政を裁判し指揮することを統治という。統治を施す方法をこれを統治体制という。統治体制には三種類あり、無制限君主制（他国の命令を受けず独立して国民を治めることをいう）

From [the previous latitude] up to the Tropic of Capricorn, the eastern coast of the continent shows traces of collapsed rock formations. This is because in ancient times, when a great flood came from the east, it swallowed and destroyed the greater part of the land, and afterward the remaining cliffs were repeatedly subjected to marine erosion and worn away, with only the most solid parts remaining today.
Chapter Nine: Political Geography
The entire surface of the earth is divided into five parts: namely Europe, Asia, Africa, America, and Australia. These five regions of the world are further divided into several countries each, and every country has its people who establish their own governmental decrees to govern themselves. This is called state governance. The adjudication and direction of state governance is called administration. The method of implementing administration is called the system of government. There are three types of governmental systems: absolute monarchy (meaning to govern the people independently without receiving commands from other countries).
