　　　　『本草和解』では千葉の罌粟を
　　　　　　麗春花と言う、また賽牡丹と名付ける
　　　　　　また錦被花と言う

　　　　　　　私が言うには
　　　　　　　　この花を国俗では花罌粟（はなげし）と呼ぶ。花は薄紅、
　　　　　　　　紅、紫、白で、その品種は甚だ多い。游黙斎の
　　　　　　　　画譜にこの花の美しさを詳しく述べている。『和漢
　　　　　　　　三才図会』では麗春花を美人草とするが、これは間違いである。美人草は
　　　　　　　　別種である

　　　　The "Honzō Wakkai" calls the Chiba poppy
　　　　　　Beautiful Spring Flower, also names it Sai-botan (Mock Peony)
　　　　　　Also calls it Kinpi-ka (Brocade-draped Flower)

　　　　　　　I say:
　　　　　　　　This flower is commonly called hanageshi (flower poppy) by the people. The flowers are light red,
　　　　　　　　red, purple, and white, with many varieties. Yūmokusai's
　　　　　　　　illustrated manual describes the beauty of this flower in detail. The "Wakan
　　　　　　　　Sansai Zue" calls the Beautiful Spring Flower "bijinsō" (beauty grass), but this is incorrect. Beauty grass is
　　　　　　　　a different species.
