『大和本草』に言う、苜蓿草は疑うらくは
仙台萩であろうと言う。仙台萩は
これと異なるが、しかし草の形の大小の
違いがあってよく似ている。
この説は的外れではない。
『和名類聚抄』に言う

differs from this, but there are differences in
plant form of large and small sizes, and they
resemble each other well. This theory is not far off.
