『本草綱目』に曰く、蒪はその性質が水に従って滑らかなる故に蓴菜と名づく。春夏の嫩茎でまだ

茎にならざる者を雅菜と言い、葉の梢が舒長なる
者を絲蒪と名づけ、秋に至って老いると則ち
葵蒪と名づく。

In the "Wakan Sansai Zue" (Illustrated Encyclopedia of China and Japan), in the section on aquatic plants, it says:
Brasenia (junsai) 《small text: nunaha》 蓴 Same alternative name

In the "Bencao Gangmu" (Compendium of Materia Medica) it says: Brasenia, because its nature follows water and is slippery, is named "brasenia vegetable." The tender stems of spring and summer that have not yet

In the "Tashikihen" (Compilation of Many Identifications), in the aquatic plants section, it says:

In the "Wamyo Ruijusho" (Japanese Names Classified Collection) it says:
Brasenia (nunaha) According to Yaō's investigation, brasenia is a friend of Shirun, the Japanese name is nunanaha
It is a water vegetable
In Su Jing's commentary on materia medica: From the 3rd-4th months to
the 7th-8th months it is generally called "thread brasenia,"
and from after frost falls until the 2nd month it is called
"circular brasenia."

Brasenia vegetable (nunaha)
In the "Yamato Honzo" it says: Brasenia 《small text: nunaha, shunsai》 The Japanese name is nunaha. It grows in marshes,
the stem is long and resembles rope. The meaning should be "marsh rope" (nunaha).
Today's common people have changed the pronunciation to call it brasenia vegetable (shunsai).
