たはこは異国の方言或曰日本に初て來り丹波より其粉をきさみ出す故に
〇丹波粉（たばこ）と云此説妄説なり
清康熙人陳扶揺著め花鏡を曰
烟花 一名 淡芭姑
初出海外に傳ふ種を漳泉に今隋地に
有之本似て春不老（おほからす）に大也聞紫白細
花を葉老曝し乾し切て切て如線の後に美にめ
其名を
金絲烟と云
一名 返魂烟 一名 擔不歸
人喜て貝烟而吸之
雖至酔仆に不怨
多識扁に以莨菪を称多波古莨菪は
別種に而和名宇多伊登古と云人を能く
睡眠せしむ故に阿片の藥に入俗に眠り藥と云

酔仆に至ると雖も怨まず
『多識編』に莨菪を以てたばこと称するは
別種にして和名をうたいとこと云う。人をよく
睡眠せしむる故に阿片の薬に入る。俗に眠り薬と云う。

The same book states:
Tobacco is a foreign dialect term. Some say when it first came to Japan, the powder was processed and cut from Tamba province, hence
it was called Tamba powder (tabako). This theory is false.
Chen Fuyao of the Qing Kangxi period wrote in "Flower Mirror":
Smoke flower One name: Tanbako
Initially appeared overseas and seeds were transmitted to Zhangquan. Now found
everywhere. The plant resembles Harufu-rō (ōokarasu) but is larger. It blooms with purple-white fine
flowers. When the leaves age, they are dried in the sun and cut thread-like, then beautifully

In the "Tashikihen," calling henbane "tobacco" refers to
a different species, with the Japanese name utaitoko. Because it
