予曰
和漢三才圖會甚違り然《割書：共｜》條説委く合す
其葉似櫻桃の葉に葉間開くを
如蓼の穂の二つ小朶成すと を云者正し
産物志に以て及已を爲るも二人静と是也
然《割書：共｜》和漢三才にも両種別を以後丗爲る一
物矣

『和漢三才図会』湿草類に曰く
二人静 俗称、本名不詳
《割書：ふたりしずか》 謡歌にいう静と香女の幽霊が
二人で同じく遊舞する、この花の二つの
朶が相双んで艶美であることから名付けた
私が言うには
『和漢三才図会』とは大いに違うが、しかしその条の説明は詳しく合致する
その葉は桜桃の葉に似て、葉の間から
蓼の穂のような二つの小朶を成すというのが正しい
『産物志』では及已をもってこの二人静とするのも正しい
しかし『和漢三才』でも両種を別として、後世では一つの
物とした

"Wakan Sansai Zue," Wet Grass section states:
Futari-shizuka [Two-person quiet dance] Common name, true name unknown
《Marginal note: futari-shizuka》 In Noh songs, the spirits of Shizuka and Hanajo
dance together as two people. This flower has two
clusters that pair beautifully, hence the name.
I say:
Though greatly different from "Wakan Sansai Zue," the detailed explanation in that section matches well.
Its leaves resemble cherry leaves, and from between the leaves
emerge two small clusters like knotweed spikes - this description is correct.
"Sanbutsu-shi" identifying this as kyūi with futari-shizuka is also correct.
However, "Wakan Sansai" treated them as two separate species, but later generations considered them
as one plant.

small-leaf varieties. What is depicted here should be the small-
leaf type. Indeed, the illustrations and explanations in "Chikin-shō" and
this are mutually identical.
