救荒本草に曰く
竹節菜（あをばな） 一名翠蝴蝶 又名く翠娥眉と
《割書：つゆくさ｜》 又名笪竹花 一名倭青草
淡竹葉（つゆくさ） 再寫
淡竹葉と称る者別種
さヽくさと云う連珠あり
和漢三才圖會鴨跖草條曰
按 鴨跖草（ちくり あをばな）《割書：和名都｜岐久佐｜》俗云う知久佐用て其花
汁 濃者（こうやのをめん）を浸染し紙を呼曰青花と爲畫貝と
予按
翠蝴蝶（すいこてう）は鴨跖草の一類なるらん和漢
三才圖會に分ち載せたり然共集説共に
淡竹葉に能合す救荒本草又
然り此同種に不非二名名
也別に玉蝴蝶と云う者あり是翠蝴
蝶の一類ならんと乎然共花の色黄与翠
之異耳本朝未た聞すと有るを追而
考尋可けん寫乎

『救荒本草』に曰く
竹節菜（あおばな） 一名翠蝴蝶 また翠娥眉と名づく

ささくさという連珠あり
『和漢三才図会』鴨跖草の条に曰く
考えるに 鴨跖草（ちくり あおばな）《割注：和名つきくさ》俗にちくさという その花の
汁の濃いもので高野の青面を浸染し、紙を青花と呼んで絵筆とする
私の考察
翠蝴蝶（すいこちょう）は鴨跖草の一類であろう。『和漢
三才図会』に分けて載せてある。しかしながら諸説ともに
淡竹葉によく合致する。『救荒本草』もまた
そうである。これは同種であって二つの名前ではない。
別に玉蝴蝶というものがある。これは翠蝴蝶の
一類であろうか。しかしながら花の色が黄と翠の
違いがあるのみ。本朝ではまだ聞いたことがないが、追って
考え尋ねてみるべきであろう。

"Wakan Sansai Zue" (Illustrated Encyclopedia of Chinese-Japanese Nature) in the section on dayflower states:
Upon examination, dayflower (chikuri aobana) 《Marginal note: Japanese name tsukikusa》 commonly called chikusa, with its flower
juice of concentrated type, they dye Kōya blue masks and call the paper "blue flower" to make painting brushes
My analysis:
Jade Butterfly (suikochō) is probably a type of dayflower. In "Wakan
Sansai Zue" it is recorded separately. However, all the descriptions
correspond well to light bamboo leaf. "Jiuhuang Bencao" is also
the same. These are the same species with different names,
not separate entities. There is another one called jade butterfly, which is probably
a type of jade butterfly. However, the flower colors differ only in
yellow versus jade green. In our country we have not yet heard of it, but we should
investigate and research it further in the future.
