『本草』に曰く 「翹搖」と名づける

『救荒本草』に曰く
野豌豆（のえんどう）
俗名を「草裏菉」という
『救荒本草』に曰く
山黧豆（つるふちはかま） 〔別名：あきふじ、同名のものあり／かまぎりそう〕
『救荒本草』では一つのものを
二つの植物として記載している。
『救荒本草』の野豌豆は
すなわち濱豌豆（はまえんどう）に
相当する。

『和漢三才図会』柔滑類に曰く
薇（いぬえんどう） 野豌豆 垂水 大巣菜（俗に「以奴恵牟止宇」〔いぬえんどう〕という）
薇の注解については諸説あり、一定しがたい。『詩経』の召南篇に「陟（わたり）彼の
南山に、ここに其の蕨（わらび）を采る。陟彼の南山に、言に其の薇を〔采る〕」
〔朱子の注：薇は蕨に似てやや大きく、芒があり味は苦く、山中の人がこれを食べる〕
その注では二物を同類の異なる種としている。『和名抄』では薇・蕨の
二字を以って一物としているが、これは甚だ誤りである。思うに、『詩経』において
薇と蕨が対句として用いられているために、誤って一つの
物とされてしまったのであろう。『爾雅』・『説文』もまた同異があり、
李時珍は薇を野豌豆としている。しかしながら『大和本草』では、薇（いので）は
深山幽谷の中にあり、蕨に似て大きいとし、『本草』の薇は
別物であるとのことだ。このような類は同名異物のものが甚だ多い。
俗に曰く「翹搖（いぬそらまめ）と野豌豆の大小の別はすでに分けられているのではないか。
翹搖を野豌豆とすれば、薇もまた野豌豆であることが明らかではないか」
〔著者曰く〕そうではない。薇は名を
「大巣菜」といい、これは野豌豆の
大きなもので、一種の
別物である。名を「茳芒决明」
（こうぼうけつめい）という。野豌豆の集説が
互いに混同されているため、
ここに集解するのみである。
【八重咲きのサンショウバラ？】
山椒荊（さんしょういばら）
『本草』家および『大和本草』に曰く
宝相花（ほうそうか） 仏見笑（ふつけんしょう）
金桜子（さんしょうばら） 一種
仏見笑の俗名を「牡丹茨（ぼたんいばら）」という。
宝相花はまた一物に二名があるものだ。
『華厳経』に曰く、外面は菩薩に似て、
内心は夜刃の如し。「仏見笑」の名は
これに拠る。

According to the "Wakan Sansai Zue" (Illustrated Sino-Japanese Encyclopedia), section on soft and smooth plants:
Osmiund fern/vetch (inu-endō) Wild pea 垂水 Large vetch (ōsunakusa) [commonly called "inu-endō"]
The explanatory notes on "bi" (薇) are difficult to settle, as various theories exist. In the "Shao Nan" section of the "Shijing" (Book of Songs): "Ascending that southern mountain, here we gather its bracken fern. Ascending that southern mountain, here we gather its bi."
[Zhu Xi's commentary: bi resembles bracken fern but is somewhat larger, has awns, tastes bitter, and mountain-dwelling people eat it.]
The commentary treats the two as plants of the same type but different species. The "Wamyōshō" treats the two characters for bi and bracken fern as one plant, which is greatly mistaken. Presumably, because bi and bracken fern appear together as a paired phrase in the "Shijing," they were erroneously treated as one
plant. The "Erya" and "Shuowen" also differ on this point, and Li Shizhen identifies bi as wild pea (no-endō). However, the "Yamato Honzō" states that bi (inode) is found in deep mountain valleys, resembles bracken fern but is larger, and that the bi of the "Bencao" is a different plant altogether. There are extremely many plants of this type that share a name but are different species.
There is a saying: "Are not the large and small distinctions between qiáoyáo (inu-soramame) and wild pea already established? If qiáoyáo is wild pea, then is it not clear that bi is also a wild pea?"
[Author's note:] That is not so. Bi is named
"large vetch" (ōsunakusa), which is
the larger variety of wild pea, yet it is
a separate species. It is named
"kōbōketsu-mei" (茳芒决明).

are confused and mixed together,
I compile this collective explanation here.

Sansho-ibara (Sichuan pepper-thorn; 山椒荊)
According to herbalists and "Yamato Honzō":
Hōsōka (宝相花) Butsu-kenshō (仏見笑, "Buddha's Laugh")
Kinōshi (金桜子, sansho-bara) One variety
The common name for Butsu-kenshō is "botan-ibara" (peony thorn).
Hōsōka is also one plant with two names.
The "Huayan Jing" (Flower Garland Sutra) states: its outer appearance resembles a bodhisattva,
but its inner heart is like a night blade. The name "Butsu-kenshō" (Buddha's Laugh)
derives from this.
