▲銀五百六十七匁五分がある時に、十匁につき四斗三升二合換えの相場にしては、この銀で米はいくらになるかと問う。
米二十四石五斗一升六合という。
【解法】銀五百六十七匁五分を右に置いて、左に相場の四斗三升二合と置く。これを右へかければ、米二十四石五斗一升六合と知れる也。

**Method:** Place 567 *monme* 5 *bu* of silver on the right, and on the left place the market rate of 4 *to* 3 *shō* 2 *gō*. Multiply this (the rate) into the right (the silver amount), and the result is **24 *koku* 5 *to* 1 *shō* 6 *gō* of rice**, as established.

〔Note〕Dividing silver by the silver market rate gives rice. Multiplying by rice gives silver.
