方法を述べる。●実（じつ）に一万五千百二十九坪と置いて、●まず実によって●位（くらい）を見る。●「一・十・百」●「一・十・百」と、●このように数えて上がり（位を数え上がっていき）、見るときに、●真ん中を●「百」というのは、●百の位と定めて、●商（しょう）に「百」と置く。●この通りの●下方（かほう）にて●「一・十・百」と●数えて上がって、●「百」と置く。●さて法（ほう）にて、●下方の●百の上の通りにて、●商の「百」と●下方の「百」と●九九（くく）に用いる時、●「一一（いちいち）の」●一万坪と●法に置いて、●これを実にて引く也。

The method states as follows: ● Place 15,129 tsubo in the "dividend" (実, *jitsu*) register. ● First, using the dividend, ● determine the place value (位, *kurai*). ● Count upward as "ones, tens, hundreds" — "ones, tens, hundreds" — ● counting upward in this manner, and upon inspection, ● the middle position is called "hundreds," ● so it is determined to be the hundreds place; ● place "100" in the "quotient" (商, *shō*) register. ● Following this same procedure in the "lower square" (下方, *kahō*) register, ● count up "ones, tens, hundreds" ● and place "100" there as well. ● Then, using the "divisor" (法, *hō*) register, ● in the position above the "100" of the lower square, ● when the "100" of the quotient and the "100" of the lower square are applied using the multiplication table (九九, *kuku*), ● for "one times one" (一一, *ichi-ichi*), ● place 10,000 tsubo in the "divisor" register, ● and subtract this from the dividend.
