法にいふ●実に千七百廿八坪とをきて●まつ実にて

十と置也●これは商の十にしたかいて置なり

法（やり方）に言う：●実（じつ）として千七百二十八坪を置いて、●まず実にて
●位（くらい）を見る。「一十、一十、一十」と順を追うように
数えて位を確かめる。この時、●「十」というのは●「十の位」である。
●まず商（こたえ）に●「十」と置いて、●また下方にて「一十」と確かめて
十と置く。●これは商の十に従って置くものである。
●さて法に従って、●下方の十に●商の十を掛ける。
●一一（いちいち）で百と置き、●また法の百より●「一十」と数えて
確かめて、●法の百に●商の十を掛け、●一一で千坪と
なる。これを実から引いて払う。

The method states: ● Place 1,728 tsubo as the dividend (jitsu). ● First, examine the place value of the dividend. Count through the places as "ten, ten, ten" in sequence to determine the position. At this point, ● "ten" refers to ● the tens place. ● First, place "ten" in the quotient (shō), ● and also in the lower section confirm "one ten" and place it as ten. ● This placement follows the ten in the quotient.
● Now proceeding by the method, ● multiply the ten in the lower section by ● the ten of the quotient.
● One times one makes one hundred; place it. ● Then from the hundred in the method, ● count up by "one ten" to confirm it, ● multiply the hundred in the method by ● the ten of the quotient: ● one times one makes one thousand tsubo.
Subtract and clear this from the dividend.
○ The remainder is 728 tsubo.
